Someone who really wants to fuck people up, they're fucking savage. Shows ISIS have been doing their homework on best types of knife to use. Yes, they break easily against blunt impacts but they're unmatched at cutting through flesh and muscle tissue. If you really wanted to fuck someone up with a surprise attack and maximise the chance of a fatal or life-threatening wound you'd use one of these. They're only less useful when it turns into a street brawl. Literally the perfect bladed weapon for an assassination though.

For the record, all ceramic knives that you can buy in a store are impregnated with metallic bits so that they trigger metal detectors. This is done in a variety of ways, sometimes a metal core, a metal coating, actual bits of metal in the ceramic, but you can't buy a ceramic knife and get it through a metal detector.

Ceramic knives are also not any sharper or more dangerous than steel knives, nor are they even harder, or more durable, although they are cheaper and easier to manufacture.
