Wish the conservatives ran on the DUP's manifesto, some policies I could have got behind.

To reduce the rate of Corporation Tax to at least 12.5%;

To freeze then cut or abolish the TV licence and reform the BBC;

To cut the VAT rate for tourism businesses;
To introduce a Trade Accelerator Plan including an enhanced range of initiatives to help support both new and existing exporters to explore new markets;

To abolish Air Passenger Duty;

To establish low tax, deregulated Freeports in economically underdeveloped parts of the UK
To reduce the number of Government Departments and reduce the number of Special Advisors;

To introduce a Civil Service Voluntary Exit Scheme yielding annual savings of
approximately £100 million;

To create new trade, investment and innovation hubs in key global markets;

To introduce alternative models of public sector service delivery such as increasing the use of social enterprises.

This. There's no point in fighting for what generations of our forefathers fought for because of one generation's mistake. Because one generation did something wrong we should just put an end to 2,000 years of history.

There's no point fighting because of one generation making a bad decision that could never be undone or fought against.

The Boomers are the most powerful force the world has ever known. To fight against this almighty generation is to try to stop time or hold back the tide.

Here's what's really happening:
>Hill is very strongly hated by the old Cameron faction - lots of bad blood between her and Gove in particular

I suspect something like this to be honest. I voted Brexit in hopes that maybe the UK would aspire to be something better even if it meant backbreaking work but reflecting on this election I suspect it was just the logic of 'gibmedats' which swung the Leave a very considerable amount. In my cynicism of everything political and the EU I accidentally put too much faith in the British electorate.

Depends on who ends up controlling the party line. The DUP seem to be in favour of a Hard Brexit, and I think a good portion of the Conservative Scots want it to get the fishing waters back judging by which areas ended up voting Conservative. The problem I feel is the English branch of the party, which may feel that they need to go towards soft brexit in order to take back some of the English constituencies. Hopefully people like Boris and Davis actually believe in a hard brexit and are able to make the argument that a successful brexit will regain them power. As someone who has just joined the Conservatives, I know I'm going to tell them not to back down, not that my voice counts for much.

There really isn't an equivalent in American politics but imagine if there was a geographically and culturally isolated part of the USA where the Civil War was still being fought until recently but the Confederates won. They had their own Parliament, their own laws, their own rules and were about 200 years behind the rest of the USA.

Now imagine that a mainstream party in the rest of the USA was in an electoral position in which they had the most power, but couldn't form a government. They were nominally associated with the Confederacy in that microcosm, due to a historical arrangement that was until recently quite irrelevant. The small Confederate party took their seats in the main legislative body, but had no impact other than that. Until now. They looked at this part of the USA, with its unique and bizarre situation, and someone pointed out that they could get them on side in a formal coalition.

Other people, many people, were worried about what this meant for the country as a whole. For the smaller party brought into the coalition was on record saying many things that would be considered political suicide anywhere else in the Northern Hemisphere, but doing so on a daily basis.

This was a huge part of why I voted to leave as well. I fully expected the UK economy to take a hit, but I thought that leaving a massive socialist union would spur people on to become personally responsible and rebuild our crumbling society. I thought that tougher times would pull us together and get rid of this soft, entitled mentality you see in so many.
How utterly naive. People voted to leave for gibs and then they voted for Labour for maximal gibs.

Labour is pro-feefees. The Cons in both of our countries are importing huge numbers of shitskins for the (((economy))), while the leftist support for "refugees" comes only from the hard left crazies.

There's a reason why Stormfront endorsed Comrade Corbyn. Although either way, we're fucked barring a huge change. It's just a matter of how long demographic displacement takes. Iirc, since 2001, the UK dropped from 94% to 85% white. Neither of the establishment parties will ever reverse it, even if they have different priorities.

Thing is, investment is flowing in and the government have been quite clear about the idea that there would be a Hard Brexit. So unless all of these companies assumed they would cave, which is entirely possible, then why invest unless they believed that a hard brexit would be a success. I still believe that it will succeed, they simply have to do it. They can then add whatever spin they like in order to help them win the election. Regardless of Labour's stance on Brexit, their tax policy was stupid and would have destroyed are ability to make up for lost trade as well killing any potential investment.

One main aspect of this election was that it was entirely unnecessary. By calling it, the conservatives changed the win/loss definitions to if they gain seats or if they lose seats. I'm not sure what's so difficult to understand.

No it does not change the win/loss definitions at all, you either win an election or you lose it. Tories won most seats, Tories won most votes, Tories form the new government.

Labour didn't win at all.

You do know how and why elections are called, right? And you do realise that, if the Tories are headed for electoral oblivion, the last thing they're going to do is call a new election, right?

It doesn't but if it did we would love that on brit/pol/ 50% DUP 50% Tory would be perfect.

No. They'll take it as proof that white Christians nationalists are a far greater threat to society than Islamist terrorists. You could set a single dud in a field on the Isle of Man, and to lefties, that would be worse than 9/11.

They'll use you to justify even more concessions to Islam with even harsher recriminations against whites, Christians and nationalists.

In a way it's beneficial because no-one would even have time to condemn the IRA because it'll result in IRL shitposting about how great Mussies are, but the downside is absolutely no-one would give a shit about the point you're trying to make.

Labour
>acknowledges there are millions of turd world immigrant voters already here
>tories keep flooding cuntreeee with Muslims etc but ignore their voting demographic
>labour may as well go for the brown vote.

/pol/tards are retards. The reason the uk got flooded with Muslims was down to cheap labour undercutting the British working class, labour voters never, historically voted for this bullshit. Over the decades the voter demographics have changed and working class towns and cities like Leeds were largely supplanted with Muslims....who became the working class..they are now a useless underclass..this is why they vote labour..

On top of this...the left wing has been corrupted and subverted by (((them))) and it's why "identity politics" about racism and sexism dominate the so called left wing..SJW bullshit is a cancer.

Momentum has already successfully hijacked new labour..if /pol/ keep memeing then all those SJW students will wake up to the kalergi plan and what immigration really is.

Hopefully May retires after Brexit.
>>
>>129334894

She filled in for Cameron after he resigned and so not only did she have the disadvantage of only being able to use Camerons remaining term years, she didn't have the credibility of being naturally voted in. She didn't want the long term resentment of that building up and being used to undermine her and the Tories as she tried to tackle the Brexit in a reduced time frame. As the Brexit unfolds people will seek to blame any negative shifts it causes on her. As an 'illegitimate' PM these attacks would have a 2x multiplier. In turn this would have created a lot of room for people to turn on the Tories when the next election comes up, and people could have uses 'CALL AN ELECTION' as an ultimate unblockable javelin the whole time.

As it stands she has managed to write off the Cameron time she's used up and start her own turn from the beggining. Now she's legit, she has a full 5 years ahead, and when the next election comes up the Tories have an improved chance of carrying on.

It was the best move for the country as we approach the defining event of the next 100 years. It is true that attending the debate and doing more campaigning would be good, but it is also true that she was already PM and she was actually very busy preparing the Brexit.

She has shown responsibility and strength. She did do what's best for everyone. In comparison, Labours illegitimate Gordon 'THINGS' Brown, said he would call an election and then didn't, where May said she wouldn't and did, which is an up step. The Tories can now rub two female PMs in the face of Labour, both of which have shown more mettle than the majority of male Labour leaders.
