These regulations are going to spread all across the world and are designed to prevent not extremist muslims but average citizens from getting redpilled.

Why? Because taking the redpill means realizing that our politicians are all guilty of betraying their nations for a globalist agenda and the one thing they truly fear is being held accountable for their actions.

>>
>>129325595

This.

Controlling terror starts by closing border to muslims, then going after the radicals and put them in camp/deport and take their passport.
Pretending internet is the problem is beyond stupid.
Especially when you allow terror organizations to freely use the internet. I'm pretty sure England already has laws which forbid conspiring to murder as well as planning terror, regardless of what medium it is done through.

Just start enforcing your laws again and you'll be alright. unfortunately the fear of being called racists is enough to deter policemen and law enforcers to do their jobs, SAD.

There is barely any communism left. We lived under communist rule for almost 50 years and openly admitting being a communist is political suicide. I would say british people are much more open to commie ideas then hungarians. Antifa is despised by leftists as well.

Sadly a lot of the high ranking commies slipped through at the democratic transformation and some of them are still near power. And our government doesnt want to release the names of the communist agents.

Unfortunately we slipped back into oligarchism after the 2008 financial crisis and we are on the way to have a shady government like ukraine or russia.

So yeah we have different problems now, but they aren't really that different if you look deeper.

What May is proposing isn't ISPs giving away your personal information.

She is proposing banning end to end encryption which is impossible. That would be the internet equivalent of banning appendixes. It is stupid and unimplementable.

ISPs tried to fight the last internet spy law that made them keep everyone's emails and adresses, they lost badly in British courts and now the law is a reality. They will have a even worse time if they try to fight this time because we won't have EU privacy laws to protect us anymore.

With Sinn Féin sperging out over the DUP gaining power and some of her MPs and a Minister refusing to work with the DUP due to some of their hard-line views May will struggle to last the summer. If she continues to obsess over things like ending encryption, something every industry is against she's done. Also Labour and LibDems are now in a position to block it if they wished to. And while Labour have been anti Internet themselves they will not be able to resist the chance to get her out.

Right now she is acting like she is still Empress of the country, this is not going to last very long.

The Conservative party are neolibs. They care only about money, power, and more money. They've abandoned religion, only so far as they love Israel and have an American view of Christianity (preach unity and charity, but fuck anyone who isn't me or my friends). They're obsessed with control over communications, their current aim is creating an internal British internet that they can monitor, control, restrict and censor. This is all to 'combat terrorism', but at the same time they want more immigration, as it depresses wages for locals, keeps them poor and desperate and hateful. Communities terrify conservatives. Divide and conquor.

The DUP are Irish loons. Imagine those Westboro Baptist nutters turned into a political party. The DUP thinks dinosaur bones are put there by God to test our faith. They're REAL conservatives, in that they want to conserve their specific interpretation of the Bible and impose it on everyone else, regardless of the fact that it was even considered a bit backward 100 years ago.

/pol/ as usual is filled with shills and memeing NEETs, convincing the turkeys that Christmas is ace, and it's only those OTHER turkeys who are gonna get the chop. They can't ban them. Too many industries need them. Nope, it's easy to track and block the IP addresses of personal VPN providers while allowing standard corporate VPNs. Oh, what is that? You are worried your own governement will have even more oppressive laws instead? Haha, don't worry, it is for the best so that we can be more competitive on the market!

Ah, you are worried this "free competition" actually means multinational corporations will be able to have even more of a stranglehold on medium and small businesses? Don't worry about it, money from them will help us expand our economy and provide better services! Oh, actually, speaking of services - dementia tax and no more free lunches for kids.

We have a starting point already in operation for copyright holders where ISPs can block torrent websites such as piratebay. It wouldn't take much tweaking for them to block anything the government tells them to without a court order.

Sure, many of us can get around these blocks easily, but most normies can't. And as one way to circumvent the block becomes popular and wildly known, the government will again force the ISPs to block it, and so on and so on until there will be no way to get around it. It may take a while, but I fully believe what May wants will be possible if it is allowed to happen.

Yeah it is a non-sequitur, because you're basing your argument on the premise that the EU is no less authoritarian in its aims than the UK. The point of leaving is that's it's easier to temper/vote out/ overthrow your national government than it is to do the same to a supranational entity. I feel no ill towards you though, you feel you stand better chances dealing through Brussels and I feel I have better odds dealing through westminster.

If you want to delude yourself in thinking your special brand of government is different from all the others, then knock yourself out.

It is clearly less authoritarian in regards to privacy issues tin comparison to the UK government, as is portrayed by the current thread you are posting in.

> The point of leaving is that's it's easier to temper/vote out/ overthrow your national government than it is to do the same to a supranational entity
A supernational entity you can leave at any point (which you have) if it proves to be more oppressive and robbing of personal rights than your national government (which it is not).In this sense you do not have to "overthrow" the EU if you are displeased with it, you just have to leave it.

>If you want to delude yourself in thinking your special brand of government is different from all the others, then knock yourself out.
This is not about a "special brand of government, it is about what the different options of governing offer to the ones governed. As it stands I will take legislation on pillows over one that completely destroys internet privacy.

This is exactly what happened in China and it's really annoying to use, you find a way to circumvent it and a month later it's blocked. I recommend you Bongs to fight this as hard as possible

It is only slightly less authoritarian on privacy because it does not yet have the means to enforce it. It certainly was authoritarian in fiscal and political regards if you look at the PIGS or the numerously overturned referendums like in france or ireland or the threats placed on Poland & Hungary.

>A supernational entity you can leave at any point (which you have) if it proves to be more oppressive and robbing of personal rights than your national government
Irrelevant point. Leaving the EU is not a practical thing to do, especially when you've already sacrificed your currency. And as we can all agree it's not simply about the shape of the EU today, it's about the EU of tomorrow. It's a constantly evolving project and it's not insane to speculate that leaving the EU in 10 years will be harder than it is to leave it now, especially if fiscal and polical union keeps going underway. None of it is revelant to its authoritarian streak anyway. If anything it should be embarrassing a nascent superstate is already showcasing such characteristics when it's not fully formed yet.

>this article is about observing nod mediating content on social media platforms
If you read the article, then you'd know the EU is planning to turn those restrictions into law hopefully by the end of the year. Afterall it states:
>"The Commission says it may come forward with legislative and/or non-legislative instruments by the end of the year to address "legal fragmentation and uncertainty related to the removal of illegal content by online platforms".

Or what about this one?
>The least intrusive option involves allowing law enforcement authorities in one member state to ask an IT provider in another member state to turn over electronic evidence, without having to ask that member state first.

No you fucking idiot, she will have to make her own ISPs and make them do it from the ground up, and at the rate encryption is evolving she will be literally dead from old age before she sees the infrastructure required to enforce it. China's firewall has a fucking tonne of holes and is still barely enforceable no matter how many journalists you see imprisoned.

China is a pseudo dictatorship. The Tories have like 4 years tops to make ISPs do this before they are out. It is literally impossible to ban encryption.

She's won't last long and with her tiny majority, she won't be able to pass anything controversial. Don't forget many in her party are going to punish her relentlessly and want to distance themselves from her and unpopular choices.

Reminder:
This was a great election for Corbyn.
>Gone from a 40 point minimum loss to a 29 seat gain in 3 weeks.
>No blank check for may.
>Proper opposition to May's madness.
>DUP demands soft Brexit(only way EU will allow soft NI border).
>Conservative back benchers demand hard brexit.
>May finishing the job of destroying the tories.
>Labour elected next election.

What they get is no brexit due to impossible concessions demanded by all sides.
It sucks if you wanted out hard and fast, our negotiations will be a joke.

The DUP take the Tory Majority to 2 IF they all vote for Tory bills. They can tank ANYTHING controversial the tories plan unless they get their blow jobs. Not to mention her own back bench rebels will need to be appeased constantly

It's a terrible position to be in, weak af.
Corbyn is lucky she is this insane enough to carry on desu.

What? Why would she need government owned ISPs? They have to comply with laws just like the journalists who have to obey government-issued gag orders.

And yes, controlling encryption in messaging platforms will be a much larger challenge. They'll either need to ban the platforms themselves, or convince them to play ball with her. The latter is pretty unlikely, the former is possible but possibly not tenable.

Basically, there are challenges, but don't overestimate the power of idiots who feel that 'something must be done.'

Complying with the law is only one option, the other option is to leave. None of the big ISPs are based in China so they don't have to do anything majorly censorship related. What May is proposing would change the entire infrastructure of the internet in this country.

Again, China is a pseudo-dictatorship and they still can't fucking enforce their stupid firewall. Arresting people for censorship related crimes in China is optional for police it is so unenforceable. May doesn't have the time or resources to force companies she doesn't own that have the option of moving to countries like Ireland that respect free speech to implement laws that would be a massive financial burden to them.

this
It's already been demonstrated radicalisation still mostly occurs in the real world via dodgy mosques with radical preachers and the communities which enable them. It's easier to shut down the internet and pretend it meant something. In reality MENA is still destabilised, the gulf states still export their toxic religious brand and foreign communities still seldom integrate.

May deserves to get shat on for this level of complacency and laziness.
>>
>>129339575
>and they still can't fucking enforce their stupid firewall
But the internet there is really annoying to use. Also companies demanded China to ease the firewall because it hinders business.
Starting to ban stuff in UK will make companies leave or not even start in the first place there. China at least had the advantage of cheap labour and a huge market both which UK does not.

The same governments that allow ISIS fighters to "return home" and who don't screen refugees and who don't act on clear warnings about people about to commit terrorism..

..want to assure us that locking down the internet and examining the assholes of law abiding citizens is necessary because of terrorism.

Just believe them. Why would they lie? It's not like they lied about the refugees, who are majority non-syrian. It's not like they lied about refugee children, who aren't children at all. It's not like they lie and distort crime statistics, to hide the new crime wave. It's not like they relabel crimes committed by these fucks as committed by ethnic nationals. It's not like they purposely call second generation crime committed by their children "local crime" to hide it in the stats. It's not like they rebrand things as "gang violence" when it's actually turf wars between ethnic minorities.

Just trust the government, because the government knows best. Just like the previous laws completely stopped child porn, drug trading and terrorism, surely these new laws will stop terrorism. Again.

True, but that's exactly the point, internet censorship/regulation harms the normal users and businesses but "evil" users for which it was intended can circumvent it, fight it Bongs, there is nothing good coming from it. It's a political show just so they don't have to address the real issues.
>>
>>129339959
I agree 100%. Thankfully I do not believe May has the means, time or political weight (not anymore) to carry through her proposals. What's more likely is that a much watered down version might be put through to parliament some time later, and that will be what we have to watch out for when it happens.

All of the world's governments are starting to move in a similar direction in regards to internet access. Unfiltered speech makes it impossible to successfully control any narrative. The age of the radio & tv set information monopoly is over, and the only thing users really have to worry about when using the internet is measuring their own bias against the bias of the sources they "picked". Intellectually it might require more effort on the part of the user since he has to be more vigilant frequently when assessing information received, but it's no different than what the MSM & governments did to us before the internet. And boy, do they lie just as much as the next random shitposter.

Their argument can be summed up as such, "we're trying to protect you from your own bias". And that's a shit-tier case to make.

You think that Labour is against mass surveillance and destruction of privacy? They love that shit. They increased the number of cameras dramatically when they were last in power. Did you notice how Corbyn never attacked May on her privacy laws, despite the fact it would have been really easy to do so? That's because they support this.

Can't have those evil white racists saying bad things about Muslims, can we?
>>
>>129342620

Wrong.

Most people claim Corbyn voted against "anti terrorism" laws but all of those acts and laws were not so much anti-terrorism laws as they were laws to remove our liberties and privacy.

He voted against them because an anti-terrorism act shouldn't be removing our freedom to watch porn or giving the police the power to stop and search us whenever and wherever they want with no need for a warrant, suspicion of anything or even a fucking excuse.
But because the acts were called "anti-terrorism" he got shit for voting against them.
