Forgot to add that the lolbertarian phase came along with when I joined this place years ago and thought Farage was the answer to our countries problems.

People move away from leftist politics because they become bitter and insecure rather than logical. It's very Freudian. It's like when you see a man having passionate relationships with Women where both respect each other and are not afraid of the pain the relationship could inflict. When he is married and with a daughter he becomes a pathetic mess who is terrified of his daughter dating and stays up at night dreading if she's getting shagged.

Socialism works in the high tax, high education, high social responsibility countries. The Tories ask the country to function of good will and civic charity. That cannot and will not exist until we immediately bring back high taxation on the rich and corporations.

It's a confidence and supply arrangement. Most Tory voters aren't going to be mad enough to vote for a communist because the Tories require support from unfavorable parties to deliver Brexit.

Brexit should trump everything in this election, but it was made out to be about everything else.

Honestly I'd vote to remain now because this is going to be a headache given we've humiliated ourselves, but we don't that choice so must not dither. There is no alternative.

That's got nothing to do with individualism though.

It's got everything to do with decades of borrowing to prop up a massive welfare state and multiple massive foreign wars resulting in 1.5tn of debt.

I don't see socialism being the answer to that. Collectivist nations don't seem to last very long either.

>Reposting in this thread aswell, for purposes of awareness and vigilance against the lefty scum who seek to destroy us all.

You literally made a case that earning isn't real.

As for comparing a supermarket and a small store, the supermarket has up to hundreds of people working for it totalling thousands upon thousands of work hours. They have tons of food, thousands of items, and tens of thousands of customers. The small store has what the handful of staff can organise with their 120 work hours. The supermarket earns more money because many people want to shop there and need the large choice. They hand over their money deliberately.

You are trying to tell me that the supermarket CEO is a bad person for building more stores and employing thousands upon thousands of people, and mediating the earnings of all the food companies that sell through his store?

OF course he's doing more than the little guy, objectively. The little guy isn't phoning up architects and dealing with the stress of multi million pound budgets.

Council services have had their funding halved in the space of a few years. Okay you can make the valid point whether or not their budgets were two high during the Labour years, lumping social care spending onto them certainly didn't help.

What I'm trying to get at is when you suddenly remove the Councils ability to maintain waste, parks, streets, social charities and schools you suddenly have to start telling people to do all this themselves. Its hard enough getting people not to chuck their litter on the floor or pick their dog shit up let alone bigger responsibilities. That is what I mean by "good will" while we're becoming a tax haven.

The point is that if there was less supermarkets, there would be more small stores specialising in different products to compensate. People got to shop somewhere and retain the diverse selection of products for purchase.

Supermarkets kill small stores owned by upper lower class - middle class people and instead create a raft of low class, low paid jobs, while funnelling a vast portion of the revenue into the pockets of the upper class globalist shareholders, and the few in the management area.

Extreme measures need to be taken against the Labour Party and within the Conservative leadership. No one who looks like Nick Timothy should be able to advise on anything. You can tell he's a freak by looking at him. TM is worse than Corbyn for giving him not only a chance, but a boost.

Anyone else in the country could have annihilated Labour with that sort of opportunity. Instead she annihilated her voter base. Forget the 'debates', she raped the pensioners and if she had gone on about Brexit the Northerners would have voted for her over the Marxist.

The only chance they have of Labour not winning in 2022 is by releasing, over weeks and months, everything that previous Labour governments have done and every investigation and file on senior Labour leadership. Pay some whore to say Corbyn raped her when she was 10. Suggest he doesn't like Princess Diana. Fucking do something because the left smell victory at the next GE and TM has handed them it.

>there's people thinking Brexit will still go ahead

You know a proper Brexit would need the great repeal bill to be passed right? So that the cabinet could then amend EU legislation smoothly.
There is no way this will pass with a 2 seat majority. The government will literally have to put every single piece of EU legislation through a parliamentary vote now. And I mean everything from the shape of bananas to what kind of lightbulbs we can buy.

It will be fucking hilarious everyone who complained about "faceless EU bureaucrats" now having to watch our own government debate and vote on EVERYTHING in a proper democratic process.

That's fine but to actually pay for all of that you have to not waste money on frivolous shit. If you do waste money on frivolous shit for an extended period of time, unfortunately there will come a time when you have to stop doing it and when you do you might have to stop spending money on things that you actually kind of needed. This also applies to personal finances. I will concede that there can be situations where cutting something might cost us more money in the long run but that's about it.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this little known piece of British history. My take on this is that it was probably a psy-op rather than an actual plan to take over the Wilson administration. However, the rehearsals would have provided useful information on the pros and cons of such an attempt should the need have arisen.

I don't doubt that there are detailed civil contingencies in place whereby the army would be used to restore order/take over.

Well there isn't. What would be the point of a large amount of small stores? That's how things were in the 40s.

People made the supermarkets what they are by paying them. They paid them because they have everything under one roof. It's not financially or logically practical to go to 5 -10 or more stores hunting for specialist items. A small specialist shop that only sold dairy products for example would still be less powerful than the dairy section of a supermarket. They would have less space and less choice, and would only service a small amount of people.

I worked for a supermarket that had 500 people employed by the site in one way or another. It is practically a town in and of itself. If you reset the scenario and tried to follow your model only a small % of those people would actually have the initiative and intellect to run a small shop, and they wouldn't be able to employ the rest of the 500 in their small stores. The townspeople would have need greater than the supply provided, everyone loses.

You would rather everyone be poorer to sabotage the few very rich needlessly.

Lobster Magazine has a lot on this but it's behind their paywall. As I understand it the plot was mostly in the Army. I'm pretty sure it was real but that the plotters were amateurish. tbf it was a combination of both, May ran a terrible campaign, Corbyn came off very well in the final interviews and held actual rallies, turned up for the debates etc. while May basically spent it going round acting like a robot

The Dementia tax announcement was very poorly planned, she didn't roll the pitch at all and she relied on her advisors too much, if she had talked to the party at large and got some feedback she could have rolled it out far more smoothly

He replaced Hugh Gaitskell as Labour Party leader, who was pro-US, after Gaitskell's sudden death in 1963. A Soviet defector also fingered him as being a KGB agent, and claimed that Moscow had assassinated Gaitskell in order to put their man in charge of the Labour party. The CIA were also convinced that he was a Soviet agent.

He also undermined British foreign policy so a lot of Empire Loyalist League types really hated him. He was reasonably pragmatic in his politics so nothing like Corbyn at all really.
