Because it really is possible to be that out of touch.

Right, and it works a time or two.

That's how we got the Patriot Act and how UK got Snoopers Charter and whatever else they have.

And people are sick of that shit and have been for years.

Doesn't seem like a smart campaign strategy, especially when you've got a raging commie focusing specifically on driving out the tech and internet savvy youth vote.

Whoever ran the Tory campaign should be compelled to commit ritual suicide.

It's arguably not her job to be in touch, it's the job of her campaign staff to make her appear to be more in touch than she is.

Brit political parties are all shit and it's because Brits are shit.

Because Brits are so irreparably demoralized that they might actually fall for this crap and like it.

It should be a requirement that you understand how the internet and computers work to hold political positions.

How can that be if they just nutted up, voted for Brexit, and filed for it via Article 50 process. Not to mention that it obviously didn't help boost the flagging Tory campaign.

One lesson that the Tories would learn if they were smart is that if they acted more like UKIP then they could pick up some of that Labour vote that went to UKIP in the previous election and went back to Labour this time around.

I'm glad they ended up exactly where they are because it forces them to learn a lesson. And the lefty butthurt over DUP is utterly priceless.

I can honestly understand how you might get that impression sitting over there, but honestly a tremendous percentage of Americans weren't even aware that it happened. It didn't move the needle anywhere.

I don't mean that as a slight at all. People should have known about it, but many Americans are woefully misinformed and don't think about the wider world much.

Most Americans barely pay attention to our elections and referendums, let alone another country's.

tories this run were democrats 2.0. assumed corbyn would be a pushover and that victory was closer than it really was. this showed through with their crap campaign versus corbyn's dumb but very consistent message

>I'm glad they ended up exactly where they are because it forces them to learn a lesson

maybe i'm wrong, but what incentive do they have now to do anything in the public interest? next election is potentially 5 years away so they can just pretend this one never happened. there is also an increasing mandate for tories to remove theresa and put someone in her place that nobody voted for... at the start of a 5 year cycle...

it is still within the bounds of the democratic process here... but wow i don't rate the future much :(

>Nobody living in Britain wants more losses of civil liberties

You sure about that? Because pretty much every message written by a bong here actually approves of that 1984 like society. They think having the state controlling every aspect of their lives is actually a good thing. And they are not the only one, it's a global trend all over Europe. The majority of European have drank the government's kool aid like little milk and genuinely believe that an everlasting state of emergency giving full powers to the state and their goons, more gun control, "hate speech" laws, internet control, more taxes, more armed police and military patrolling everywhere, curfews, banning knives, banning cars in big cities' centers, etc is actually going to make them safer from those evil terrorists (while also welcoming gazillions of "refugees" with open arms, because apparently the more we have sandniggers, the safer we'll be from ISIS, really made me think).
They unironically think their lives are going to be better off from this.

Make no mistake, every European is a socialist subhuman that deserves death. This sandnigger invasion is actually a blessing, this continent needs to be wiped out once and for all.

>maybe i'm wrong, but what incentive do they have now to do anything in the public interest? next election is potentially 5 years away so they can just pretend this one never happened.
They have every incentive to better position themselves to win more votes in the future. Most people spend their whole lives voting for the same party. You have to continually find ways to reach out and win new voters.

Whether or not making themselves more popular would also be in the public interest is a matter of debate, but there are a lot of things they could change to make themselves more appealing.

>there is also an increasing mandate for tories to remove theresa and put someone in her place that nobody voted for
Can you be PM without being an elected MP? If not then their constituency would have voted for them, not that that should be sufficient to have democratic legitimacy to run a country.

I think they should stick with her until the negotiating is done so the UK doesn't look weak and leaderless going into the negotiations, unless there's an obvious candidate for coronation (like BoJo!).

When I was growing up the joke about the UK was that they were basically nannied from cradle to grave by the government. That image eased up a bit post-Thatcher, but it probably shouldn't have.

I couldn't vote as I've been in hospital for two weeks. I got back home yesterday. (my legs are fucked) I'm 49, a veteran and a single dad as my wife died in 2012. Life can be harsh.
However, my daughter turned 18 in January so it was her first vote.
She wanated to tell me who she voted for. I asked her not tell me.
It's a secret ballot. I'll discuss politics with her, but I wanted her to know that it's her vote.

Well, I would have voted UKIP, but they have had their day. OR, I would have sploiled my ballot paper, because the Conservative government is not 'conservative'. It's a label. There are so many levels to this election. And I can't put it in one post. Needless to say, I'm pissed off with this charade.
>>
>>129311754
Because she is a totalitarian.
What else needs to be said?
She is a control-freak to the fucking rotten core.
She'd have this country become a dictatorship with her at the driving seat.

I so badly wanted her to lose just so she would be kicked out of government forever.
Sadly you fucking retards in the rest of the country voted her in.
Fucking Lib Dems would have been a better decision.
Fuck all of you.
I don't even care if Tories got in again later on, I just wanted them out this time to see May die of shame.

she knows people want Islamic terrorists BTFO but doesn't want to only target Muslims because that's raycis so dumb shit like "lets ban the internet and free speech" happens. This is what political correctness does to a brain.

Why wasn't there a party like UKIP before UKIP? They were classical liberal / libertarian (basically because so is Nige).

If there was a non-degenerate alternative to Lib Dems it seems like it could be really popular. I guess Lab-Con is just that good at beating back challengers.
