There are other coins with better anonymity features than BTC but at the moment it is still the gold standard of crypto. Holding pysical assets should still be considered as well. Never a good idea to hold all of ones wealth in the same place...

You can have fractions of BTC and ETH. I have heard twice now about something called "premining." Basically when they set up BTC, and then ETH, the creators kept an large portion of the finite reserve for themselves. They had straw purchasers "buy-in" at near zero price. Its just like gold. A fixed, limited amount, and some cabal controls nearly all of it.
