I think it's not a bad idea. I've been posting on various boards since I was 19 or so and I only kind of have a vague sense of what's going on.
People are sarcastic, or tell out right lies, threads disappear, and as the end user you only know what you see. And on top of that personal preference effects how you use the site. I'm not a sports guy, so there are tons of /sp/ memes and injokes that I'm sure fly right over my head- I don't watch Dr Who, but there's a never ending general devoted to it on /tv/ that's existed for years. And then there's board culture- certain boards hate other boards entirely as a rule. It could really be enlightening if somebody took a look at EVERYTHING that's going on and synthesized it.
