It is strategic.

The idea is that the liberals will do whatever it takes to keep the Trump Hate Train going until at least 2018.

The biggest fear for Democrats is that what remains of the liberal base will for even one moment take their hate filled minds off Trump and ask themselves "WTF are the Democrats doing and how fucking stupid are they to lose to Trump?"

Up to this point the idea it to place the blame for losing on Muh Russia and Trump being a moronic super agent for the 1337 hackers of the Russian IC. If the Muh Russia story falls apart who will the angry liberal base blame next? Do you think the Dems like Schumer are going to take the blame? Hillary and Obama clearly are to fucking butt hurt to do anything but blame everyone else.

My prediction is that if the Democratic party allows the Muh Russia story die... so will the liberal base. They will eat themselves alive if the liberal base took the time to self reflect and realize how shitty their elected leaders really are.
