Brotherhood is the most fun to roleplay through the story and DLCs. Also they're pretty based in 4, especially compared to the other commonwealth factions.

The BOS in 4 is not as based as in NV. I just finished the main quest in my first play through of 4 (just got a new computer built so I could play it). I went with the BOS but Bethesda's insistence on making them generic good guys who want to help people is insufferable. They aren't the "good guys", they're supposed to be fascist fucks who hunt down tech and kill anyone who tries to stop them. Still, they're better than the Railroad. I might do an institute play through soon to see how that goes, they seem kind of based in that they really don't seem to care too much about to shitty dirt people on the surface. But I suspect they are just pussies who hide behind their robots because they're too scared to do anything like conquer the commonwealth.
