I'm in Alabama, my grandmother lives in 850 acres. The food we have is stupendous and rich in heritage and contrary to belief, vegetable oriented and very healthy.

Breakfast is a hearty protein and carb bomb that will get you going. Most of our red meat is vineson and the second is fish.

Collards stewed with hamhock and a dash of apple cider vinegar, broccoli divane, grilled brim with hand cut potatoes seasoned with paprika garlic and onions and pan cooked, Alabama seafood gumbo (more tomato based), stewed okra and tomatoes, field peas, snap beans topped with lemon pepper, etc.

And always a fresh plate of raw veggies. Cucumbers, peppers, green onions, tomatoes, etc

The Emancipation Proclamation only stopped slavery in the Southern States, it's obvious that this was a punishment from the North for the South trying to secede (ultimately for more State's rights). As someone who was raised Southern Baptist that's half true although it isn't a rabid hatred for most. The majority are neutral or only slightly negative about the Catholic Church itself.
