the difference is that most superheroes draw people in by being fun, then people develop a serious affinity for certain characters

black panther (and I say this as an ex-weeb who spent a lot of time in comic shops) is the only hero who has consistently pulled black folks into reading comics because they think "yeah, this nigga black and sheeit like me"
