As someone who doesn't know much about British Politics but knows enough to not trust any news site, what does this election mean for Brexit? They can't back out of it since the Supreme Court or whatever confirmed it, right?

no, we're leaving. the only point of contention is the "deal" we get (soft Brexit) or if we just fuck off (hard Brexit). May was originally remain, would like a deal, but would probably have to go for a good deal, as she clearly wants power (enough to grovel for hours to the Queen).
the Irish loyalists who she's just got in bed with, however, back a hard Brexit.
both are fine. hard is better ideologically.

So what happened was she had a majority but wanted more so that she could play hardball with the EU guys. The result was that she couldnt get enough votes to form a govt by herself and so she collaborated with an irish party to get a little over what she need to form a gvt.
tldrl; Had majority, threw it away to get more, lost the majority, still need to negotiate with EU with a weaker hand.
