>Thread poll
http://www.strawpoll.me/13146206

>At a glance
DUP+CON is still only a majority of 2. Very narrow. A loss from the majority of 4 (330) that the Tories held before.
Minority government with the help of DUP all but confirmed, meaning some people will be tricked into thinking they are getting a hard brexit while still getting 300k+ migration per year
DUP were supposedly outlining a soft border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland as part of the terms for propping up an enfeebled Tory party, no proper source on this though
SNP got blown the fuck out, though stilll largest party in Scotland
Exit poll proving to be correct so far with only Kensington yet to declare.
Nigel Farage will probably go back into politics.
Nuttall has resigned as leader.
Conservatives are just as bad as Labour

>Why did it happen?
The number of UKIP voters going to Labour was underestimated.
They ran a very insincere campaign.
U-turns on social issues undermined her authority.
People fell victim to the soft brexit meme.
Manifesto negatively impacted Tory voting core.

Around this time last year, Brit/pol/ was making a campaign to register as members of the Labour party and vote for Corbyn in the leadership election because he was deemed unelectable.

Now Theresa May's coalition with the DUP has a 2 seats majority, will collapse within month and another GE will be called. Corbyn will be PM.

Funny isn't it?

soft border between them and the republic, which was in tories manifesto anyway.
DUP campaigned for leave.

May push for a soft brexit in order to not be hammered next election.
It is possible that they lied in their manifesto to not let Sinn Fein win some seats.

It's the worst case scenario for Britain, fellow burger. The Tories are still in power, but they have no mandate, so not only is the party with zero vision and Teresa May still in charge, but they have their hands tied and feel they can't do anything. It's pure paralysis. And because May fucked up she may resign or be forced to resign, causing a leadership contest, which takes a while - but Brexit negotiations begin in two weeks.

All this election did was ensure chaos and fuck Britain over. This was the second dumbest political decision made by a Tory PM in recorded history.
>>
>>129202767
No this is far fucking worse.
You see, Labour actually had a legal and diplomatic legend lined up for Brexit talks. Somebody that actually fucking knew their shit and would likely be able to get a manageable deal from the E.U. that works for as many as it possibly could.

Tories have Borris "literal autist in a suit" Johnson. A fucker that's debating tactic is to make noises and flail around like a chimp when things don't go his way.

>DUP+CON is still only a majority of 2

http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/elections-and-voting/by-elections/by-elections-2010/

http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/elections-and-voting/by-elections/by-elections/

By-elections can literally bring this government down. When you consider that incumbent governments typically do poorly in by-elections, it's not hard to imagine a scenario like:

>One by-election swings from Tory to Labour/SNP
>A high profile Conservative remainer with a thin majority and poor relations with the party (e.g. Soubry) defects to either Labour or the Lib Dems

Suddenly the majority is gone.

Lads,

Can we stop the autistic labour screeching for two minutes, cut the bullshit, address some key issues.

1. Brexit, what is the current state of it and how will it likely be effected by this election?

2. Are the new Tory government going to be /ourgov/?

3. What are the predictions for the NEXT general election at this early stage? Will it be a cake walk for labour, or will Cons come back with a merciless vengeance like nothing we've seen before?

4. What species is Andrew Neil? Is it a Gnome, hobbit?

May's own party may attempt to Coup, as the majority have voiced against the D.U.P. meaning that the party is in no way united in the decision.
It's less they want to lose and more that not being in power will be beneficial for them to a degree. Brexit is going to be a horrible mess and that means whoever is in power gets the blame.
Bottom line is that it's a time of political chaos, we need a government with a mandate because then they have actual power. Meaning this government won't last long. Either through a party collapse or because May chickens out.

In other news, nothing is truly set in stole till the Queen makes her speech.

>1. Brexit, what is the current state of it and how will it likely be effected by this election?
It will be a very soft Brexit. David Davis is already considering staying in the single market which means freedom of movement. A 2 seat majority government will never be stable. Theresa May was having trouble controlling her own backbenchers with an overall majority. With this kind of result she won't be able to pass anything remotely controversial. Add to this the fact there are people within the Conservative party already asking for her to resign.

>2. Are the new Tory government going to be /ourgov/?
It will be the same as the previous, but with the realization the UK was ready to elect a literal Marxist, the Tories will probably move their economic and social policies to the left.

>3. What are the predictions for the NEXT general election at this early stage? Will it be a cake walk for labour, or will Cons come back with a merciless vengeance like nothing we've seen before?
Conservatives are finished. This government will be inevitably remember as fragile and unstable. Voters do not like that. The infighting and backstabbing that will ensue in a leadership election will just make things worse.

think of it as being like a backdoor-

cunts can come into ireland via schengen open borders with no checks, then travel to norn with no checks, then come across to the manalnd with no checks.

cunted.

They have tried to soften their image recently I think but they are against anything that isn't British protestant.

Northern Ireland is in another league when it comes to racism/sectarianism

Going into coalition with the DUP will perhaps make no difference to public perception of the government at all, because it could scarce get any worse - especially in demographics likely to care about their policies.
>>
>>129205368
I meant UUP.
Sinn Fein are the party who wants N.Ireland to join the republic, they do take seats in the devolved Irish parliament so if the majority is for Sinn Fein then they'd probably hold an Independence referendum.

Johnson is so utterly tainted by corruption and incompetence, that is now impossible to imagine him in charge of a ice cream van, let alone an office of state.

It will last, though it won't be as powerful. We won't be as well off as we would have been, at least for the first few years of independence. After that, maybe we'll come to small agreements with the EUSSR.

We'll be OK, though not great.

If there was another GE in, say 3 months time, do you really think labour could get the extra 65 seats it needs to form a majority government? Even tag teaming with jimmy krankie they would need to nab 30 seats off tories. Even if they triple team with the jimmy krankie and wet end farron they would need to nab another 18, which is probably doable, but you think people are going to put up with that cluster fuck up of democracy? I dont. And corbyn will have his own words chucked back at him, he wont have the mandate of the country.
>>
>>129206198
Since people are being horrible to you. It's a derogatory term for an Irish Catholic used often with Fenian. An actual Taig is the Gaelic word for Poet.

He hasn't caused any crisis in the last few months, which is more than can be said for many others in the cabinet. He is, in fact, far from a laughing stock - I sense more than ephemeral comparisons with Churchill, in that he will spend his time in the wilderness, in penance, and return to the fold.

I also judge from your wittering about 'privilege' that you are more left-wing than you are willing to let on. I have never heard a conservative friend of mine use that term except when acknowledging perception of it can be a problem.
>>
