>In fact the concession they will be offered will be soft border, which means nothing to a brit, given Ireland is not in shengan.

The problem with a soft border is, the EU can only allow it if the UK is in the single market or like Switzerland has a tight relationship which implement the 4 freedoms.

Most likely. And they are not wanted by the Brits. But having politicians belinging to an "economic trade group" dictating migrant quotas for people being boated from Somalia and Afghanistan is worse. The Brits made the right decision. The EU is screwed now because African warlords have capitalised on this situation. While European governments and NGOs continue to "save" people in the med, there will be criminals in Africa taking advantage by smuggling and extorting desperate people. This will not stop until we stop it, and while the EU has more power as an entity than sovereign nations, the will of the people means nothing.

Since Germany has rarely paid the 2% of GDP to national defense they are bound by treaty to pay, Trump claims the Germans are in arrears to the US (which pays the lion's share of NATO costs).

It's typical of Trump's negotiating strategy: start with an outrageous demand (Germany owes money to the US taxpayer) and then "settle" for what you really wanted (Germany agrees to spend more on defense).

Plus it's good #bantz to turn the "pay denbts" meme back on the Germans.
>>
>>129168540
>where did this meme come from btw? saw it alot here. there are no nato debts. so what caused that meme?
The idiot Trump said Germany is not paying its NATO debt and printed out a made up invoice for Merkel.

Burgers are literally retarded and believe all military spending is paid to NATO which in turn pays the NATO countries money for their soldiers. This is what Americans LITERALLY believe.

And Germany is right on this one.

Brits are so stupid. They vote in 2015 on the general elections. Then in 2016 on BRexit.

"Oh no, we can never reconsider our Brexit vote!"

A few months later, early general elections with May saying "this is all about whether the British public backs me on Brexit" - May BTFO.

Why not have a second vote on Brexit now? Why? What is so special about Brexit?

I am pretty sure the Brits will VOTE AGAIN on the parliament until the end of the year as a hung parliament is impossible to govern with long term.

So 3 general elections in 2years... but only one Brexit vote? WTF?

>That's the agreement you signed.
The guidelines we voted for in 2014 say we have to get to 2% by 2024 and that is what Merkel has reaffirmed many times.

Inform yourself Brit. The 2014 Wales agreement never said 2% from 2015 onwards.

http://www.nato.int/cps/ic/natohq/official_texts_112964.htm

Taking current commitments into account, we are guided by the following considerations:
Allies currently meeting the NATO guideline to spend a minimum of 2% of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on defence will aim to continue to do so. Likewise, Allies spending more than 20% of their defence budgets on major equipment, including related Research & Development, will continue to do so.
Allies whose current proportion of GDP spent on defence is below this level will:
halt any decline in defence expenditure;
aim to increase defence expenditure in real terms as GDP grows;
aim to move towards the 2% guideline within a decade with a view to meeting their NATO Capability Targets and filling NATO's capability shortfalls.
Allies who currently spend less than 20% of their annual defence spending on major new equipment, including related Research & Development, will aim, within a decade, to increase their annual investments to 20% or more of total defence expenditures.
All Allies will:
ensure that their land, air and maritime forces meet NATO agreed guidelines for deployability and sustainability and other agreed output metrics;
ensure that their armed forces can operate together effectively, including through the implementation of agreed NATO standards and doctrines.

1. Yes, if the Brits have no government for 2 years now (very unlikely) and there are no negotiations and thus no extension demand by the non-existing British government, then Brexit is automatic.

2. However, with a British government you can do anything. Britland can revoke Article 50. Britland can ask for an extension. Britland can negotiate to remain in the single market.

Everything is possible now.

Honestly now, Brit. Why do you call the EU the 4th Reich? It is not like the EU has any resemblance to the 3rd Reich, because if it had, you would be all for it.

Now, be reasonable, what is so bad about the EU? What? That a few Poles and Romanians and French live in London? It is not like they live anywhere else in Britland. Also, they are white Christians, a demographic group you desperately need.

Also, this is a razor thin majority. You just need 3-4 MPs not in line with the majority and your gov fails.

Brexit may still happen, but not how May envisioned it.

Because Trump and his advisors have a very different philosophy than other American administrations: they basically don't care who has the biggest army in Europe. They think too much taxpayer money is spent trying to make things perfect overseas, and that most international trade deals hurt the American middle class at the expense of foreigners.

So you end up with a dysfunctional government.

Prepare to vote again within the next 6 months.

Good question actually.

1. A Republican has to promise that shit to get elected. Same reason he pretends to be against abortion.

2. He (or, more specifically, his nationalist advisors led by Steve Bannon) want less wars trying to impose democracy and human rights in the Middle East, a big departure from Democrats like Hillary and especially neocons like Bush and McCain.

3. He wants more US tariffs and a re-negotiation of international trade agreements that he feels hurt the US working and middle classes. He wants to give relief to Americans by wage increases and more jobs, not more welfare or government services. Republicans and centrist Democrats, on the other hand, are big believers in highly interconnected global free trade that boost GDP and benefit US corporations, but not necessarily the average salaried worker.

Working on it. 8 years of nigger rich spending and Bush's retarded to pay off. Shouldn't be too hard with our 4% projected GDP growth rate.

Isn't this the worst result that could happen to the UK? Now you get a middeling Brexit, more migrants, authoriterian internet, cameras up your ass AND your foxes will got extinct.

One of these days, Merkel, bang zoom right outta the EU
>>
>>129174082
Then why is Merkel so worried about NATO? It's almost like she isn't confident Germany can defend itself on its own.

Never seen a bigger thread of crabs trying to pull the UK back down into the bucket. Are you so lacking in your love for your brother that you take pride in knowing he may get the assfucking you're currently enjoying with no end in sight?

People say leafs are a scourge on /pol/ but it's easily German dipshits ruining this place with their petty defeatism and desire to wallow in the mud in good company.

Euro still crumbling. The Greek time bomb still ticking along with other southern EU states. Debt still rising. Browns still coming. France has always been on side, no change their either. America is still upping its military spending and the second you start waving your EU army dick around you're going to be brought right back into line if you even dare, which we know you won't.

Oh she will. Trump changes his opinion by the week and Paris Accords come into effect 2020 anyway. Putin is on our side on this matter too. We know he's just throwing a tantrum to look like a competent leader that has things under control. He'll backpedal when he thinks that's better for him.

Paris accord? This "agreement" is useless and powerless on so many levels.

But I think EU should try its hardest to amend the relationship with Russia. Russia becomes a even more important player now the world power swifts back to Eurasia from North America.
>>
>>129175932

What are you gonna do? Let the british people vote?

>yfw Britain votes in absolute majority to let germany control the british army

>>
>>129175891
>Trump changes his opinion by the week and Paris Accords come into effect 2020 anyway.
Yeah but it doesn't matter if he simply doesn't pay into your scheme or adhere to the regulations. You're going to purposefully cripple your economy while the US is dropping taxes and regulation, lmao. Good luck competing.

> Putin is on our side on this matter too.
How does that get the US to agree to Paris?

>We know he's just throwing a tantrum to look like a competent leader that has things under control. He'll backpedal when he thinks that's better for him.
Not an argument.

I expected better, you didn't even answer the question. If Merkel can't compel Trump on Paris with her words, how is she going to compel him on withdrawing US troops?
>>
>>129170078
>implying the EU hasnt been moving towards a superstate since its inception, complete with its own military

>>
>>129176124
Taiwan will do nicely as a US trading partner but Europe is fucked if it adopts Paris especially while the US is reindustrializing and significantly reducing regulatory and tax overhead. And as I mentioned in an earlier post, much cheaper energy than Germany.
>>
They're going to keep making us have elections and referendums until we get the right answer aren't (((they)))
>>
>>129165067
I will laugh my head off if this actually happens.
>>
So in summation, Germany will adopt a huge regulatory and debt burden from the Paris Accords, build an army, continue to feed millions of muslims that will continue to outbreed the native population, all the while fighting a trade war with Britain and possibly the US.

tip toppity kek. I hope Greece is ready to be looted

Why are people just ignoring the fact that if we get no deal that is hard brexit? If negotiations are "postponed" then we get hard brexit because the EU refused to negotiate. Ergo we get exactly what we voted for. This hung parliament is fucking beautiful, not only has it restored the partisanship of our political system, but the sheer incompetence brought about by years of apathy might just get us a hard brexit too.

>>129177132

How would you call this a crippling for DUP? - literally they are the only party left in NI apart from the republicans - the left wing unionists have been BTFO.
