I think you have to specify -
A "nationalist" is the worst kind of cuck. By definition, a politician MUST be nationalistic. How can you be a politician of a country without being for your citizens? What politicians should identify themselves with is their views on issues, while nationalism is a granted.
Therefore, most modern "nationalists" are people with no views on anything, who identify themselves with a vague "protect the people" (which would be their job description anyway) to get power. More often than not, they sell out and/or start doing stupid shit.
In that sense, a successful politician would be nationalistic, but he'd NEVER be defined a nationalist.
