That's because it's pretty much true.

The fact that they're more brave/violent/confrontational/reckless/however you want to call it is just a consequence of their lifestyle. They get into fights where they can be stabbed non-stop. No wonder some of them won't fear a machete when drunk and hyped up on heroic rage.

These people get into deadlier situations every time there's a football game. They're conditioned for fighting, and even if they will repel a terrorist once in 20 years, you do not want to live with them, work with them, or raise your children around them.

Sports should be fucking banned.
