They're not independent. They sold out. They value the dollar and tenure and book sales far more than truth

A scientist is, at minimum, simply someone who sat through 4 years of a bachelor's of science. That is not a particularly impressive feat. Neither are scientists some sort of free-thinking geniuses. They are subject to error, indoctrination, corruption, and bias like anyone else.
I'm a retired engineer with a science background and I haven't taken TV scientists seriously since I saw Bill Nigh prancing about like a massive spaz in a sullen crowd of sexual freaks singing about everyone's junk. Pitiful.
Humanity isn't ready to fully adopt reality and advance as a whole.

A researcher makes an average of like 77k a year. Who exactly are they selling out to?
I work for a software company and spent most of my life/education drinking & bumming around and i make almost twice that. Who (((owns))) me?

TV scientists to actual researchers are like WWE to Greco-Roman wrestlers.

I think he's referring to biased corporate funded research. Like how the people making aspartame hire their own "scientists" to provide "research" that shows how aspartame is perfectly safe, but every other independent peer reviewed research shows that's it's really really fucking bad for us.
Or how the oil industry provides massive funding to climate research, and suprise, that research shows that the coal industry (not the oil industry) is the main problem.
Corporate funded research is biased as fuck and generally differs greatly from independent research.
