It's my local airport and I fly out of it all the time.
I think it's a government bunker/arms cache, my father worked on it and once told me that there were massive tunnels constructed underneath and way more concrete than what was officially required when into the construction of it.

I personally started this rumor back in 2002. Some mong near Denver was sending out spam emails to random people about aliens with a time travel machine, so I responded pretending to be a time traveling alien and, given the paranoia around airport security after 9/11, thought the best course of action was to concoct a story to convince the mong to charge into a secure area at the airport while screaming about intergalactic terrorists and secret explosives. The mong never actually did it, unfortunately, but he did sperg out and start a bunch of conspiracy sites about an alien/NWO conspiracy involving secret chambers under DIA.

Apparently, there is a way to access the underground of DIA via sewer. Infact, there is an entire network of underground tunnels and systems directly below denver and that area as a whole. It's rather spooky actually, especially since nobody knows what it's used for.

It's mostly just a normal airport, though the TSA checkpoint has a pretty somber grittiness to it, despite the volume of the room it's in. Strange, they built that room long before the TSA was such a focus. Almost like they knew 1000 people would need to be funneled through the line like a centipede.

Buckley is far closer to our old airport at Stapleton. My father is military and does stuff for the army/national guard and some times they collaborate with the air force. He's taken me to buckley a few times and the infrastructure there is far different than what is at an airport. The aircraft is much more specialty compared to commercial aircraft so they have special hangars all over the place. The land in an AFB is actually pretty sparse, there are "people" buildings for meetings and training and shit towards the entrance, then hangars, then a lot of nothing.

Also somewhat related, at buckley there are four or five of what my dad calls "golf balls", which are huge golf ball looking structures which he told me house huge surveillance and communication equipment. the golf ball shaped shell they have is to protect them from weather so the military claims, but my father says their real purpose is to disguise their orientation and who they're spying on.
