When I realized that the cultural aspects of religion are far more important than literal belief in a god. Religion gives people a shared sense of community, purpose, and destiny.

The west is fucked unless we develop another religious identity of some kind, be it Christ, Kek, or Odin. Limp wristed Christians and whiny atheists stand no chance against Islamic zealots.

Actually I don't think it'll be as big of a problem as you think. Scientists are very very close to being able to genetically modify human embryos for higher IQ, or at least select the embryos likely to have higher IQ, so eugenics will largely solve a lot of the problems that come with rambunctious low IQ people.

That along with libertarianism should solve most societal problems.

Atheism will continue to rise in popularity so long as religion is not passed down from generation to generation. Even then all it takes is one family to not pass it down for atheism to take root and spread again. You would need to enforce the beliefs to prevent disbelief, which in the modern world would be viewed as close to barbaric and most definitely authoritarian.
