Jesus Christ was the son of God. When he was a child, his parents sent him to a school for jewish rabbis because they thought that was what God wanted. When they returned to pick him up, they found Jesus teaching the leaders of the school about God. These ancient rabbis were listening to him in awe and I think they knew that he was holy.
Jesus preached love and forgiveness but also self defense and defense of the Christian faith if necessary. Jesus was a fucking badass and so were his disciples. They all kept the Christian faith until the day they died, almost all were tortured to death, when all they had to do was renounce Jesus as their Lord and savior.
Instead of letting it go, even after Jesus died and rose again, leaving the world for the time, his disciples chose to die. That is how Christianity began.
