If you are in a group of soldiers and need to move something heavy, you have dozens of people to help. Soldiers work in teams, usually huge teams. Okay, so it takes 12 females to move a tentbag vs 8 or 6 males. Who cares, There are 74 females and 128 males all doing nothing productive.

Fact is, ground warfare is conducted via ground combat vehicle. Straight-up. The use of a military vehicle for any operation is basically not going to happen. That truck, those trucks, those tanks, those APCs, those IFVs, those motorcycles, those vehicles are going to be Wal-Mart parking lot lengths away. That doesn't lend much credit to the idea that 'Females don't have the strength'.

Strength to do what? Pull a person out of the vehicle? That isn't hard. Flip the vehicle over if it tips over? Halo-style? Men can't do that either.

Yes, the cognitive dissonance is real. For us in the Navy it's not so bad because there's plenty of jobs that don't require lots of upper body strength because we're a highly technical service (like the Air Force), but I imagine it's pretty tough for Army and Marines to deal with.

Personally I think the physical standards should be raised greatly, and PT should include heavy weightlifting as opposed to nonsense bodyweight exercises, but that would ruin manning so it's a non-starter.

It's not even about who's the most qualified for the job anymore. As far as they're concerned any discrimination is bad discrimination, even if it's based in fact. All the politicians and feminists are concerned with is the moral victory.

That's the big problem with modern feminism: Facts and the "free market" dictate that women either can't do something, or such a small minority of them can that none of them should bother, and it drives them up a wall. So they waste a ton of time and effort trying to prove the assertion wrong. To the point that it becomes less about actually getting what they want and more about being able to gloat "See!
