There was a period that is referred to as "The Golden Age of Islam", from the time of the prophet for 200 years. Then hadiths were written down.

You see, Muslims today follow the Quran and hadiths, or so they claim, but in actuality they disregard the Quran and mostly follow the hadith.

For 200 years, hadiths were transmitted orally. It usually goes like this, the full version: According to Ali who heard from Abu who heard from Ahmad who heard from Rashid who heard from Osman who heard from Hamzah who was BFF with Mo, heard the prophet said so and so.

It wasn't until 200 after the death of the prophet when it was written down. Soon, it's regarded as divine mandate as it supposedly the sayings and act of Muhammad.

All the innovations Islam made, all the "think for yourself" that Islam initially preached were lost.

Thing is you need to understand how Muslims normally deal with unanswered prayers.

Let's compare the average Muslim to the average Christian. Shit happens. Both of them go to their imam and priest. Imam gives the Muslim a verse from the Qur'an and the priest gives the Christian a verse from the Bible.

Both verses are identical (except the Muslim got his in Arabic). Something a long the lines of, "Have patience in these trying times as God is with you, always."

To the Christian, he understands and accepts the verse as it is. Just man up and power through the tough times. For the Muslim, however, as traditions dictate, "Recite this and everything will be k." He expects everything to be magically fixed via divine intervention just because he read some words in Arabic out loud.

And what happens when shit still happens as shit often would? Christians have a convenient way around it. "The Lord works in mysterious ways," they would say. They accept it as it is. Muslims can't comprehend this concept.

To them, maybe they weren't Muslim enough. Maybe they weren't good enough for their prayers to be heard. But let's say they're the most Muslim a Muslim can be and shit still happens, what then?

Then they believe that it's because of other people's sin that they're suffering. Shit happens because there's that gay guy down the street or that kuffar neighbour of theirs and they did nothing about it. They're taught that Allah punishes indiscriminately so they get caught in the crossfire somehow.

And so Muslims today like to bother everyone else because of this stupid fucking dogma.
