So I've been doing some thinking about history and maps and the like. I think maps where north is up are, due to history, inherently racist. They place the areas that have been under the power of white men at the top of the world, over everyone that they feel they have a right to rule. Since physics doesn't indicate that any particular direction is up, maps should be made with south as up, this would also mean that children in schools will be better acquainted with the geography of the southern hemisphere since they will see it first on a globe.
