America is pulling out of international deals right now in an attempt to go isolationists to a degree. Ignore the increased military stuff, you are going to have that here forever. All the other arguments are other conservatives who don't realize what the fuck they voted for. >>
>>128416888

1. It's going to have the opposite effect of what it claims to.
2. It hurts the US.
3. Trump can use it as a bargaining chip for the dems.
>>
>>128418922
Right, well India is the 4th largest contribute of that, on top of being the 1st largest contributor of poo. And yet the Paris agreement not only asks nothing from them, but will give them free US money.
>>
>>128419102
No it isn't, India and China not being part of the deal makes it a shitty deal and a stupid one for the US to enter into.
>>
>>128418596
That is what we're talking about. If you exclude the beyond poor people who have zero access to anything, per capita, India is polluting more than America. Same goes for China. Not that it really matters. China and India both pump out tons of pollution and need to be stopped, yet the Paris Accord refuses to put them to the same sort of treatment as the US. It's bullshit.
>>
>>128416888
Because it's a non-binding contract that if enacted even in part would harm the US economy in its totality, while only increasing investments in what I can only call a literal scam.

>>
>>128419996
unless you raise it to over 1'000 ppm, CO2 is a minimal concern
Other pollutants are much more harmful to human health, and those are usually dealt with by condensing them from gaseous emissions
On the long run, I'm more concerned about sea conditions
>>
>>128420308
Because CO2 per capita is a lot like dollars per capita.

If you have a lot of stuff, people want to take it away.
>"You can afford to give that to us"
>>
Why? Here's why:
According to the UN-
>$100T+ bill
>Less that 1/2° temp reduction
>Less than 1% Target Result
>Only 8 months delay in change by 2100
>6 million jobs lost
>Increase in energy cost
>Massive financial redistribution to 3rd world, where energy is dirtier
>3rd world pop set to boom and flow into 1st world
>Likely massive crony capitalism

Now tell me, all the other aside, do you really think $100T+ for 8 months in 80 years is a good plan?

The Paris accord has the world come to an agreement to limit greenhouse emissions. The problem Trump and /pol/ has with it is:
>Developed country Parties shall provide financial resources to assist
developing country Parties with respect to both mitigation and adaptation in
continuation of their existing obligations under the Convention
How Trump expects the rest of the world to abandon the oil and coal that made the develop world so industrial without any assistance or awarded any modern green technology is unexplained.

VW emissions scandal was 2015... Paris Agreement wasn't signed until 2016. and it's not like this agreement is going to stop every company from lying and breaking the rules.

China has agreed to reduce CO2 emissions by more than any other nation. They have just been granted a 13 year restructuring period which they are already far ahead of schedule.
China has plans to produce more nuclear energy than the rest of the world. They have 36 plants now, 21 under construction now, and a whole lore more planned. India too is ahead of their restructuring period.

Pretty sure, there is nothing in the agreement about limiting the population.

The Paris agreement called for developed countries, aka Western countries, to pay for the economic growth and development of non-developed countries. China and India would be getting "support" to grow their development.

The retarded logic is that if you speed their development, then you'll reduce pollution. It's that stupid.

And then the left wants to say that all the big businesses and bankers are for the accord. What you should get from that these globalists and multinationals will make billions and billions of dollars off the development of all the poor countries and will basically monopolize industry there. International banks will also benefit from increased national debt, which is why they're supporting it.

>Goldman Sachs boss Lloyd (((Blankfein))) uses first ever tweet to condemn Donald Trump’s Paris agreement withdrawal

So this "climate accord" is basically wealth redistribution and global social engineering disguised as trying to reduce climate change. Don't fall for it. You can have high environmental standards and not be in this agreement. The rest of the world signed on to it because they will either profit from it or their leftists are easily fooled.

Ok look the deal was fiscally terrible for the US. They were expected to contribute $3bn to the slush fund, meanwhile the next highest contributors were Japan at $1.5bn, UK at $1.2bn, France and Germany at $1bn. Meanwhile China and India, the worlds biggest polluters were asked to contribute NOTHING, $0.

The US was also expected to lower their carbon emissions by a targeted 26-28%, and in a country where the GDP is so heavily tied to carbon emissions (through manufacturing, transportation, etc) some studies have shown that lowering emissions is tied to GDP at an almost 1:1 ratio - basically lowering the US carbon emissions by 28% might lower the GDP by close to the same, at least until economically viable and competitive alternatives can be used to replace existing methods.

The Paris Accord was carefully crafted to handcuff the US into a situation where it would weaken their economic and industrial global positions while allowing most other economies (namely China and India) to thrive.

Furthermore climate studies have shown that it would cost TRILLIONS of dollars or take over 1200 years just to lower the Earths temperature by a single degree Celsius. it's bordering on futility without willingly plunging into economic collapse and lowering the standard of living substantially.

It was an objectively bad deal for the United States.

Because the deal was horrible for the US. Obama wanted it because he's a self destructive socialist, Trump refused it because he's a patriotic conservative.
EU will come back begging for Trump's help in a few years before it's fully planned out, etc etc. Calling it.

Why should the USA suffer? Look at how much we have done for the environment and human advancement. And your retarded ass thinks the USA should decline and our scientific advances too just so third world shitholes can keep INCREASING their pollution and take our tax dollars. Fuck you, you're retarded. I'm really, really happy your pussy ass is upset and butthurt about Trump pulling out of this gay shit.

Because all it does is create a $100 billion per year slush fund for the UN, NGOs and corrupt third world dictatorships to dip their sticky fingers into, it would raise the cost of food, energy and fuel for us, would place onerous taxes on everybody to fill up the slush fund, it would force us to shut down iron and steel manufacturing and deindustrialize further, all while allowing China, India and Europe to continue expanding their power plants and industry.
Also, there's no hard evidence that any of the measures would have any effect on global average temperature, and there's no hard evidence that human-caused global warming is even occurring as climate scientists cannot model their hypothesis in any way that accurately reflects actual temperature trends.
The Paris Accords aren't about environmentalism, they're about stripping US sovereignty and redistributing US wealth to the third world and globalist groups like the UN.

It's against the free market in the sense that it significantly hinders it all for the likely result of reducing the temperature increase by 1/100th of 0.1 degrees.

China pollutes more per dollar than most countries.

Simply using per capita ignores how much of China's ridiculously large population is poor

Because it's meaningless other than a shame tool to get U.S. to curb its own industry and provide other countries with more gibs.

A more interesting question is why did North Korea sign when they don't want to cooperate on anything else?

>Pyongyang neglected to submit UN climate pledge

This means they ratified it but without any concrete plan.

>At the December summit, Ri reportedly said North Korea would protect the environment and wage “war on deforestation”. It aimed to cut greenhouse gas emissions 37.4% compared with 1990 levels, he said.

>North Korea ratified the Paris agreement’s predecessor, the Kyoto Protocol, although as a developing country it was not bound to make emissions cuts.

>Not bound

There are ways to approach global warming without putting the market in a chokehold though. There is much more economic sense in changing to renewable energy than doubling down on fossil fuels.

If you focused all of your funding and efforts into nuclear, you could easily move away from finite fossil fuels into near limitless power with far more speed and efficiency than any renewables. This is considered undisputed fact by almost everyone; the only argument that liberals have against it is toxic waste and meltdowns, both of which are massively overblown and have benefits that you think would outweigh the negatives if global warming was truly as bad as is claimed.

This Paris Accord was specifically constructed to fuck over the first world in favor of the third world and BRICS. Did you know, for example, that China alone produces more CO2 than the EU and the US combined? Yet despite this, they are not obligated to do anything outlined in the deal supposedly working to save the planet until 2030, at which point they can just as easily pull out. Meanwhile the US and the EU are expected to just throw their economy down the shitter.

Every single major doomsday prediction given by scientists, politicians, and the media, whether it's about "global cooling", "global warming" in the last decades has failed to come to fruition.

Skip to 1:50 in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhkocrEpaak

The idea of global warming is always used to:
>get people in the first-world to stop having kids to "save the planet"
>justify mass immigration because of potential "population displacement due to global warming"
>create more taxation, regulation and overreach
>reduce sovereignty by entering into these massive global institutions and treaties that will never be beneficial to your nation or its people, and somehow is pushed hard by big business and banking (like the Paris accord)
