The overlying theme of memetic warfare is subtle mass subversion of public opinion or thinking pattern. If you normalize horrific shit with memes then the people will change how they think about it.

It's an elaborate and fickle way to pull subtle psy-ops without your population realizing they're being spooked. Their agenda hasn't changed it's all about mass control and complacency. It's why nobody seems to care about anything anymore.

They're trying to promote globalism, the belief that the government is more powerful than you are and that there's nothing you can do to change it. There's a plethora of other reasons but the main one is control. /pol/ is trying to wake everyone up and the opposition is trying to keep everyone in the dark.
It's happening because the opposition can see that we're using the internet to change the real world. That we actually DO have influence that is more powerful than theirs.

Of course it's all the same narrative. Your intelligence agencies have influence in the media and are using it to their advantage. It's insanely effective. We used memes to help get a leader of the free world elected. LePen didn't work the same way because we tried to recycle the same method. Memes are fluid and need to be used when they have the most power.
If you can get memes down to a science to be both popular and subversive you could control all thought. You'd be able to subtly manipulate the way everyone thinks without them noticing. The end goal is normalization. If you can normalize it through memes then you'll see formal movements for it.
Memes are just powerful ideas that gain power from a simple understandable premise.
