To be honest, our ancestors dropped the ball when they adopted Christianity; not that they did, but how they did it.

Things would have gone more smoothly if Christianity had syncreticized and merged with Paganism rather than completely superceding it. Look at Japan's situation with Shinto and Buddhism.
