1. Russia has basically never been anything but dictators, tzars, princes, and despots. They've never had democracy in any real sense.
2. He's actually a good president, who's vastly restored Russia's presence on the world stage. If you are younger than 25, look at how Russia was during the 90s. It wasn't just bad, it was REALLY REALLY REALLY FUCKING BAD, and Putin restored Russia from the post-soviet collapse. Real wages basically quintupled over 10 years.
3. Russia might not be the strongest right now, but they have a lot of long-term power. Once global warming hits hard, Russia has the largest amount of water, and arable land, especially as warming starts to melt some of that permafrost away. They also have a astonishing amount of natural resources, which will be immensely valuable in the coming decades, as scarcity starts to hit in full force. Putin is aware of this, and tracking Russia towards that timeline, instead of capitulating to a, on borrowed time, EU and USA.

As an American, I'm really worried about where my country is heading. I'm worried because a lot of America will become inhospitable over the next couple generations, and our ability to to produce will be crippled by weather. Also, as ethnic diversity increases, whites will drop to about 35% of the population by 2050. I believe that there will be serious succession movements in 2-3 generations, as increasingly distant regions, which 90%+ certain ethnic groups, start to salvage themselves from the oncoming wreckage. I predict these long-term trends because of how divided we are now, and how crazy unlikely that is to change, when everything points to it getting more and more tribal and radicalized. Russia, generally, does not have these concerns, as global warming will ironically HELP them in the long term.

part of the red pill is accepting reality.
Russia is one of the few countries where global warming is 10/10 amazing for them. They will be immensely wealthy once their permafrost melts, and they have a ridiculous amount of free, and arable lands, and more warm water sea ports.

As a Republican I have to admit that Putin is the best leader Russia has ever had. He's a great guy and all Russians love him. Not at all. Yes, there are some concerns about aggressiveness and some shouts about "retake belarus and join it to russia" from some shitheads, but mostly noone really cares. Honestly, noone caring about anything is a norm here. Cause life is shit even without global events.

I can tell you, people were so poor in the 90ties that right up to his election several districts within Moscow were cut off from heating.
And this for 2 or 3 years even in the winters.
I was there for a trip in the 90ties, people there were actually hungry all the time. Kids on the street were stealing food we held in our hands.
All these memes against Putin are jews and their slaves wanting to loot Russia again, which is impossible with Putin in power.

It's not abou being huge territory, it's about being a huge multicultural, multiethnic, multiracial society on contrary to Americans neural drones/ bots that take in the words that Putin is the saviour of the white race and digest every news outlet / Russian propaganda [the leftists cucks also digest every EU / (((USA))) / KSA-Qatar propaganda as well].

The worst is that EUSSR and some cuck countries imported Turkish and African cheap labor in 60-00s trying to mimick Russian Empire/USSR multicultural model with worse subhumans - non-white - like niggers, turkniggers and sandnigger.

Even though I agree the rise of oil prices is the main factor responsible for the progress Russia made in 2000s, still, Putin did make some very effective reforms during his first and the most successful term, and these reforms vastly helped. For instance, without the natural resource rent tax, most of revenue from oil sales would've gone straight to oligarchs' pockets and not to the budget. Institution of the 13% flat income tax was also a huge success.

But then, by the late 2000s, Putin became bored with economy and started playing geopolitics instead.
>>
Because he did a relatively good job. He fixed economy with the help of rising oil prices and made Russia a great power again.

Also this,
Head of Russian Central Bank named European Banker of the Year.
https://www.rt.com/politics/372678-award-nabiullina-russia-inflation/

Elvira Nabiullina, the head of Russia’s central bank, has been named the best Central Bank Governor in Europe in 2016 by the international financial magazine, The Banker.
The influential publication praised her for having “helped steer the country through the difficulties,” with Russia “set to return to economic growth in 2017.”

“Having started 2016 with consumer price inflation of 12.9% – highs not seen since 2008 – Ms Nabiullina highlighted the need to lower inflation to improve economic growth in Russia,” the outlet writes in an article dedicated to the award.

Established in 1926, The Banker is considered one of the leading international finance magazines, read in almost 180 countries.

“Ms Nabiullina’s efforts saw the rate drop below 6% by the end of 2016,” the magazine writes.
This, as inflation in Russia “had never fallen under 6,1 percent”, according to the publication, citing figures by the International Monetary Fund going back to 1992.

In December last year, the chief of the IMF, Christine Lagarde lauded Nabiullina for doing “a fantastic job” while tackling the financial problems in Russia, and inflation in particular.

Nabiullina served as economic adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin between 2012 and 2013, when she was appointed to head Russia’s Central Bank.
She was Minister of Economic Development and Trade for 5 years from September 2007 to May 2012. Forbes rates Nabiullina 56th among the world’s 100 most powerful women.

In 2015, Nabiullina was named Central Bank Governor of the year by Euromoney magazine.
