Basically for being black. Down the line most presidents are forgotten unless they start a war or are part of a significant cultural defining moment. He wasn't the worst president in history probably, but against others he just doesn't stand out (apart from being black)

I can name off the presidents of recent history, but if you wait 100 years people will pick and choose the standouts to care about.
