The GOP is getting increasingly unpopular as time passes by.

The party is rife with internal factions and caucuses fighting each other for relevancy whilst hurting their own on a national level. Things like the Tea Party have become a blight on party coherency. Keep in mind, Trump is hardly a traditional Republican by any means. Consistent inaction and obstructionism over the years can only go on for so long. And it's occurring even with a Republican controlled Congress and Presidency.

I am of the belief that we're due in for an ideological shift in both parties at this point. Somewhere along the line both sides have realized that the current platforms are untenable. However, I am also of the opinion that the Republican party needs to be broken up and completely reformed.

So I am going to ask /pol/ what's the ideological leaning that a supposibly newly reformed GOP/replacement should take. Keep in mind, you can't just lean in it on /pol/ ideologies since neutral populations are usually turned off by that stuff come election time.

Mostly because it was a shot in the dark to try them out after the Democrats. Unless you believe that the Rust Belt is a particularly stable red voting bloc.

This.

The GOP has more young, skilled members than its counterpart.

At least the GOP will survive time. The Dems are all rotting corpses.

>Party coherency is more important than anything else
This is exactly why people are disillusioned with the 2 party system and are incredibly apathetic. The Democrats are going to realize their party coherency means jack shit when everyone except there select few special snowflakes hates them. The GOP is shit, but it is better than the Dems because at least the Tea Party, the Religious Right, the Moderates, etc. can actually exist and have a chance at putting their candidate forwards. Besides, the Republicans have a massive advantage right now up until 2020.

You're right OP -- the Republican Party is having a huge internal crisis right now. But it doesn't matter one fucking bit desu. Politics is becoming more tribal, everything now is rural vs urban. Cities and coastal areas go blue and pretty much everywhere else goes red. This wasn't just on display in the 2016 election. It was on display in every Congress race this year, the recent Montana one included. The only places that MIGHT be up for grabs are affluent suburbs in purple/swing states (like Virginia for example). Even college education is becoming less of a barometer for voting patterns, it just comes down to the rural vs. urban divide. Read the article in my pic (search the title on Google) if you wanna read more about the phenomenon. The article "Two Americas" by the NYT describes this pretty well too.

Simply put, Republicans are having an identity crisis but they're likely to keep winning. Democrats are having an identity crisis (what's their message again) AND going to keep losing.

Makes me wonder though on how rural communities plan to survive over the course of these coming decades. Agriculture only makes up a small percentage of the rural voting population

No amount of deregulation will suddenly resurge industry back into these communities. The ease of logistics with the centralization of production in high density population areas guarantees that by shear market force.

I think the gop is as popular as ever, there are just less and less white people (high IQ people with a sense of liberty)
>>
>>128237213
True, there are few to no things we can do to revitalize the Rust Belt and other rural areas to make them the way they once were (or "great again"). But the economic and cultural anxieties of these places will remain, and if anything they'll get more bitter. So long as they're alive, they won't be voting Democrat, that's all I know. Even if they somehow think the Democrats care about them (they don't) or can help them (they can't), the anti-white biases of liberals are becoming too obvious to ignore. White people in middle America might not be "waking up" perse but they know which party is at least fighting more directly for their interests.
>>
>>128237213
Or the collapse of the world economy can make inner cities crime infested hellholes without generous government welfare programs to subsidize the lumpenproleteriat, just like what destroyed Urban Civilization for a thousand years.

The Left always thinks history marches in one direction, it's direction, and fails to understand that fortune changes the future frequently.

>>128234442
To answer your question, OP, the base of the Republican party is gaining Social Cohesion while the base of the Democratic party is drifting apart. Only the upper echelons of the Republicans are disunited, and that has to do with peculiar reasons unrelated to the electoral appeal of the party. Democrats will fucking fracture come 2020 as Neoliberals and Socialists will fight over who controls the party.

The Republican base is so strong, that it put a man who is absolutely inept at politics, Donald Trump, against the wishes of the Republican Establishment, the Democratic Party, the deep state, the Media, and even the business community. Just imagine what would happen if a competent candidate took the reigns over the Republican Base. That's something that nobody thinks about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asabiyyah

Republicans may become a permanent minority party in the long term, but they will be like the Democratic Alliance. They'll govern the strongholds that Democrats will never reach. That is, until America goes completely in the shitter. Which we are one economic crisis away from doing.

Trumpism is the new GOP.

Although the GOP is filled with vanilla neo-con faggots who take money from Wall Street, that era is probably done.

Trumpism and Bannonism get the votes. New politicans will be crawling out of the woodwork with Trumpist platforms from now on.

This means nationalist slogans, nationalist policies, economic-minded platforms, probably a lot of edgy or slightly radical rhetoric.

I think it's possible that there could be a white nationalist candidate, but also probably not because the white population is shrinking and a white nationalist would only get white votes.
>>
>>128235226

Thinking like this is so fucking stupid. Trump fucking LOST the popular vote. He won (and most GOP politicians won) not because of mass support, but because the right people were voting in the right places.

The demographics are alarming. The trends are growing worse. Texas is going to be blue within 15 years.
>>
>>128234442
>However, I am also of the opinion that the Republican party needs to be broken up and completely reformed.
I just recently changed my voter registration from (R) to (D).

When libs used to ask me what the GOP stood for, I used to have canned answers and putdowns. We had been threatening to repeal Obamacare for 7 years, I thought sure to god these guy had a decent health care plan. Trump sure sounded like he did. I was expecting something better than Obamacare. What wasn't a pack of lies was a fucking trainwreck.

So we still have Obamacare, which bad as it is, is better than the pre-existing conditions we had before. I had a non-malignant squamous-cell carcinoma removed when I was 22. My health care premium skyrocketed in 2008 to $1800 per month for a shitty policy because of it. My claims were denied ALL the time. With Obamacare, my premium is $300 per month and I have a bronze plan. So fuck you if you think I want to go back to getting ass-raped by the insurance companies.

Between the hacked emails, the DNC servers, the Bernie scandal, the Dems have completely cleaned house. New blood running the show, new bedrock principles, and a platform of solutions to issues, not just racism and bickering. Now that they have their heads out of their asses, maybe they can fix Obamacare. That's what America needs.
>>
>>128237213
The only real hope for these rural areas is a heavy investment in broadband Internet. There are many folks with telework jobs that would love to live out in the sticks but the high speed Internet infrastructure isnt fucking there so teleworkers have to work in the city or the suburbs where broadband connections are available.

t. full time teleworker that cant get that cheap lakefront house in rural South Carolina cause no Internet.

This is true, but you are forgetting that Generation Z will be of voting age by 2020, and they are surveyed to be the most conservative generation since WW2. I know this is true because I have a /pol/ meme account and almost all of my followers are high-schoolers and hot 35 year old women.

As Gen Z moves into voting age, baby boomer dems will be dying off. We could see a massive ideology shift to the right once the civil rights generation dies and Gen Z replaces them.

Might be true, might not be. But it doesn't feel like a sure thing. Remember that millenials will gain more and more control over government and the media and will up the globalist brainwashing even more. I could see this "Gen Z is more conservative" stuff falling by the wayside
>>
>>128241306
It isn't a sure thing, but the Soviets had total control over the media and brainwashing. To the point where it could literally kill off dissidents. Didn't even work then.

The theory on Memes has yet to be written.
>>
>>128234442

White conservative party.

Democrats are going to fracture first. Might poach leftist Republicans, though.

The entire cohesion of the Democrat party at this stage relies on taking the House in 2018 or impeaching Trump.

If none of those things happen, they're going to break up into at least 2 parties. They may form a coalition party, decentralize.
>>
>>128241306
>millenials will gain more and more control over government and the media and will up the globalist brainwashing even more.
All of this depends on whether or not Trump does a good job. If he doesn't, the younger ones will lean left, like with Bush or right after Obama. If he does they'll go right like with Reagan or left like with Clinton. It all hinges on the success of the Trump administration.
>>
Democrats are just as fractured.
SJWs turn off mainstream people, even if normies are in favor of equal rights for lgbt and minorities, the SJW crowd is just unbearable.
Antifa and BLM rioters also turn off mainstream people.
The establishment democrats, that people are now realizing are in the banks and corporate pockets, why vote for republican light when you can just vote for a real republican.
Then you have socialist like Bernie Sanders that the mainstream would never accept.
Let the dems eat themselves. This last election cycle showed which party is crumbling.
>>
>>128241489
They won't break up into two parties. Rather, two parties will exist within one party as they battle it out over which coalition gets to run their candidate.
>>
A huge chunk of Democrats angreed with Trump or agreed with Bernie in those swing states... in the white parts of the country.

Coast Dems and inland Dems are not on the same page. Blacks dems and white dems want different things.

Black democrats are openly hostile to white liberals around them.

Whites care more about global warming and Muslims while black and latino democrats have more tribal concerns.
>>
>>128241306
Millenials are insane far-left faggots, but Gen Z see progressive liberalism as lame. Similar to how Millenials saw the Satanic Panic as being lame as fuck and it ruined right-wing ideology for that generation.

Generation Z is right behind millenials and will be gaining positions of power at about the same time millenials will be. Also, many millenials are lazy retarded faggots who are completely hopeless, and will never come into a position of power.

Generation Z believes in practical career options and conservative spending habits, while millenials believe in shit like "do what your love" and nonsense like that.

Millenials were ruined by their 50% divorce rate parents who usually weaponized them in their divorce or ignored them completely. People say millenials are spoiled but I think their brains are just fucked up by their dysfunctional parents. Gen Z doesn't have quite the same problem.

Dude the US is 1st grader pussy shit.

It would have to get like 700% worse than it is right now to see any sort of radical change. You know those cute little riots we've been having lately? Those aren't shit. They have crazier shit than that in places like South Africa, people actually die in political riots over there.

As long as we are able to buy dirt cheap food, I don't think we're going to see any radical shifts in the near future... I mean, maybe. I don't know. I guess it's possible.

On the other hand, I do think a lot of people feel like Trump is the last straw. Like, if Trump doesn't work, then they're just done with America.

But realistically, how would America collapse? What does that even mean? I don't think people would pick up arms to go to civil war. People are busy working to pay rent/morgtage. They don't even have time for that shit.
>>
>>128241753
Good assessment. I definitely agree the shit parenting and feel good social culture shoved on them fucked their heads up. They'll be remembered as the generation ruined by this sick liberal social experiment. Also explains why genZ is a bit better, parents caught on and liberals stopped breeding.
>>
>>128234442
I was definitely hoping for things to get shaken up by Trump, but really I don't see how we can get out of the gridlock we have now. The country is too politically divided, gridlock is probably a good things for the time being.

Make everyone give up on the Federal government and maybe they'll start looking more local or state.
>>
>>128241029
There could be a split where the states divide and create their own republics and then set up trade deals or something between the republics.
>>
>>128239934
Fuck off kike, clinton got at least 5 million illegal votes. Probably much more,
>>
>>128242135
>maybe they'll start looking more local or state.
People should be doing this from the get go. The Federal level can't control everything. Hell, the majority of problems that people have are usually state level policies, however, they pin the Feds to try and fix the state.
>>
>>128237981
Donald Trump is not incompetent at all, he's just an outsider with everyone else against him
But thats something in his favor in the eyes of Republican voters
>>
>>128234442
You're right on this anon. A lot of political theorists are saying this. The way I see it, there are 2 possible ways forward for the republicans: embrace lolbertarianism or go full alt-right. Personally, I'm for libertarianism. I think that's by far the most sustainable way of fighting marxism (has something for everyone in the age of identity politics but still stands up for free speech). That being said, I would love a full on alt-right take over of the GOP
>>
>>128242505
A neo-fascist styled GOP would be funny as fuck. Like everybody dressed up in uniforms with fake war medals on yelling about purging degeneracy from our culture at the GOP convention would be the funniest thing I could imagine.

Probably wouldn't win an election though due to the voting demographics.
