I'm in a Right to Work state, but I joined a union that helped me keep my job when the admin wanted to fire me after my first year.

Went to a couple of union events, state protests, got involved in the trenches. After five years, I'm no longer in that career, but I never forgot. It all got me on a vein of self-education re: socialism and communism that I have never since left.

All started with union spaghetti dinners and getting help with my contract.

Yet they had to take in aid from the government to stay relevant. From what I read it said most converted to capitalistic based economies, with only a few staying traditional. Either way humans have to be forced into such a collective environment because they would prefer individualism given the chance.
