its just a matter of conflict between the network and producers. network thinks the show will flop, not sure if they should pump money into it. producers love the show, but can't convince the network to continuously fund it.

so they just cancel the shows (as they cancelled sense8 before) to garner some hype and and artificially create devotion to the show (ppl will give it attention by talking about how the show shouldve stayed on, wondering if/when it will come back etc). so when the show does get re-slated, it's this big hoopla, the network cashes in because they had a set budget for a set time as opposed to a constant stream of funding, and they continue to hold on to a fanbase whose dedication appears to themselves as a fierce and righteous want for a show that deserves more.
