...the thing is that there is a short-term risk that has to be taken to survive with solar panels. The corporations have the means to easily weather a period of losses or high costs to establish the smarter/healthier/more eco-friendly product as viable, yet they are unwilling to take that short-term loss to benefit everyone. They do so for rational reasons (I don't blame them). But regular people generally can't afford to "take a break" from their weekly budget and splurge on currently extravagant, expensive products/technologies to do their part to save the planet.
