Basically a 2 degree increase for world tempratures doesn't sound like much but it will cause much hotter springs/summers, and more violent storms. The reason for more violent storms is weather patterns feed on hot, moist air as fuel for hurricanes. Even small temperature upswings can lead to category 4 and 5 hurricanes, a lot more of them.

The accord was attempting to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees, where much worse events happen at 2 degrees.

It's not about "global warming" it is about "climate change" now. The target has been minimized to that extent. Paris Accord is about successful countries giving a leg up to bum countries to energy maximize while the successful countries hold back on energy burning.
