>"To help developing countries switch from fossil fuels to greener sources of energy and adapt to the effects of climate change, the developed world will provide $100 billion a year," NPR's Christopher Joyce reports.

>But that amount is identified as a "floor," not a ceiling.

>"Developed countries won inclusion of language that would up the ante in subsequent years," he explains, "so that financial aid will keep ramping up over time."

>China, India, Russia, and other large countries classified as "developing"

Thank god for Trump

Pittsburgh is a Rust Belt city that used to have a booming coal industry before it got decimated in large part due to globalization. When Trump made his statement, he was essentially saying he's going to fight for the forgotten blue collar workers who've been left behind by globalization, not the European elites and bureaucrats who've reaped all the benefits off of the backs of these workers.

The scrappy band of regional activists is a total myth. Climate change is a battleground between corporate and international interests on both sides. Which is unfortunate because climate change is real and the environment needs to be protected. But the ones who ostensibly should be helping the environment have turned the issue into a big business shitfest, with the intention of fleecing cash from whoever is willing to fork it over, without really doing anything to help the environment whatsoever. We've dumped so much money into trying to solve the climate change problem and we have absolutely nothing to show for it. The US should not have to keep subsidizing environmental research and development while other countries do nothing but reap the financial benefits of our compulsory foreign investment.

This is a fucking pipe dream. Even if coal were to rebound as an industry, it wouldn't look like it did before - with communities of families and generational miners and mill workers. It's going to look like the gas booms in Minnesota and Texas, with hundreds of Alabamans camped out in trailers in some town they don't know and don't care about. The company operating the sites will siphon as much product as they can until extraction is no longer cost effective. They'll leave, and the camp/town will die shortly thereafter, with the mongoloid contractors riding the bandwagon to the next other work site.

Really makes my almonds jog.

Not to mention the observed data doesn't match the climate models, which is very indicative that their assumptions on how much of an impact human emissions have on global temperature is incorrect. Which indicates that their belief that temperature increase is mostly human driven as false. Although I'm sure a bunch of millennial morons will come out of the woodwork to spread their climate change dogma even as the data diverges from their conclusions. It'll be pretty neat to see how people react when temperatures cool again after the 2015-2016 El Nino - which was similar to the 1997 El Nino in terms of temperature deviation. I bet everyone screaming doom & gloom will be oddly quiet.

It was 3 things
1. Alteration, Pittsburgh and Paris
2. Trump was naming an American city to compare to Paris, as in, "I was elected to help America, not the world/Paris/France"
3. Pittsburgh is/was a steel mill and factory town back in the day. Trump's goal is to put people back to work by bringing back the good old days jobs. Pittsburgh is one of the many cities in America that was a forefront of industry and is now a desolate poor place with no work.
The Paris Accord basically penalizes old fashion jobs like coal mining, factories, oil rigs and such because they make muh carbon emissions. So he was also saying I'm here to save and bring back the jobs the Paris Accord wants to destroy.
