Assange has stated that the emails were from an internal leak and had nothing to do with Russia hacking. I'm sure Russia was hacking shit otherwise like they always do (and every IT capable country), but that particular case had nothing to do with them and much more likely to do with Seth Rich or someone close to him.

Well yeah, it's obvious Seth Rich was the leaker, especially given the attempts to discredit the investigation into his murder. It's also pretty obvious that they're accusing regular people with social media accounts photoshop and lots of free time of being Russian hackers.
