Honestly the thing about China is that they do business. When someone has business interests they will sit down at the table with you. Russia for example has no real business interests, so they are kind of useless to deal with seriously.

Germany/EU is useless. Any strengthening of the German economy has come at the expense of their own fellow countries. Some of those countries were already weak and sorry, and now they will surely need to be bailed out again at some point in the future. That or the weak links go under and the Euro collapses. I see currencies with multiple members like a chain, that's only as strong as the weakest link. The Euro and EU is already toast and they don't see it yet.
