It's literally a scam to set up infrastructure for the globalized world they are trying to achieve. China creates two times the amount of greenhouse gases than USA and CANADA combined, but we as poor taxpayers have to pay for it? Leaf, if you didn't already know this. Automation is going to kill our jobs regardless of what happens to the environment. This whole "globalist" agenda that /pol/ is crying about is a losing battle because the world is moving towards a single currency model (if it wasn't already obvious), and you'll have no way to stop it because let's face it, the globalists control all the wealth now, and it only continues getting worse as automation develops. What you said about China is all true, but how are we going to create the next energy boom in renewable tech? You need money, and it helps to have allies that all agree to work towards a goal like this.

The goal of controlling climate and saving the planet is naive, but how do you think we come up with new innovations? You set stupid goals, and something positive comes from it. That's what happened when we decided to explore other planets, NASA came up with some useful tech. This plan is less about climate change, as it is getting away from this idea that petroleum and coal are the absolutely best sources of energy for our future. When countries set standards, it forces innovation and a need/urgency to get off these outdated sources of fuel. Maybe, if /pol/ understood how the world actually worked, then you'd realize your cause is backwards-thinking and you're going to be left behind in this cucked globalized world. 90% of all new wealth is owned by the top 1%, do you think saving a few more coal jobs will fix that problem?
