You don't research the background of their words you just follow it. You follow the pied piper.

Eventually this movement and few others that tail it gain strength and before you know it the bands are starting to back some politicians. The politicians look like your typical politicians, but hey, it's the best you can do. You vote for them, and you get borderline violent when you have friends that won't. This is your one chance to break the system, you have to do it. You start attacking your opposition so much that it eventually becomes your life. That politician gets elected, and now here you are pushing the policies they are supporting. You now have the federal government backing you too, this is exciting. You are older, and not quite as cool, but you still make it throwback concerts and remember when you were just a young rebel. Times change though, now you have created a system, and while it isn't fair and it's still corrupt, you are trying! That minor 3rd, that 2-3-2-3 chord progression that never changes. It still resonates with you because of nostalgia.
