I disagree with his stance but I guess if everyone else signs it and cucks their economies, the US gets a competitive advantage with no restrictive obligations, while they clean up the climate better at the same time.
>>
>>127848299
It puts no obligations on China for like 30 years. Meanwhile the US has to hold to even stricter standards on the promise that China will eventually give a fuck.

If we are going to force anti pollution laws in global markets then we all meet the same standards and high costs or we can't fairly compete.

This is an issue I still wholeheartedly support Trump on. Dems made some shit tier agreements before they left.

Audi has developed a method of making synthetic diesel using aluminium and CO2.
When oil really starts running out, they'll synthesise petrol and announce they've found a way to make this synthetic petrol climate neutral, meaning transportation using it won't produce more CO2 than its production has consumed.

Big Oil won't just relinquish command of the energy market.

The Paris Accord- in a nutshell-
Carbon emissions are "bad" and hurting the environment.
Countries that have the highest carbon emissions must pay money to the countries that have the lowest carbon emissions.
The only way out of paying for your "carbon tax" is to close factories, industries and utilities that use fossil fuels until the carbon emissions are at a ridiculously low level.
In effect- wealth redistribution in the disguise of "caring about the environment!"

It's literally a modern day Indulgence that basically fucks over the mass of people so the 1% can maintain their lifestyles without damage the environment further.

It's even in the literature ("unfortunately not everyone will be able to benefit in the future") and it doesn't address the central problem - overpopulation - which continues unabated and SUPPORTED by the same people pushing the new taxes. They not only support overpopulation but also supporting bringing in billions of people into a consumerist market that contributes to climate change.

It's like a person making you pay extra taxes for water to put out a fire as they walk around throwing gasoline on it.

I mean, my country for instance is just beyond fucking retarded;

>We must solve climate change
>By importing millions of third world savages and giving them the means to consume at a rate on par with first worlders
>By building massive tax payer subsidized """""renewable"""""" energy sources that don't work and rely on coal power to keep going (but don't worry - if you're wealthy you can purchase """"offsets"""")
>By completely ignoring that we have the worlds largest supply of uranium and the most stable continent on the planet, and multiple facilities already established to deal with nuclear waste and refusing to build clean nuclear power stations
>By gutting our resources sector, literally our biggest sector outside of Ag and renting space to Chinks

Climate change redpills (not denial, actual redpills):

>Climate change is 100% real and man-made, but the scientists who devote their lives to it overexaggerate the long-term danger because they will never be this relevant again after climate concern passes

>Climate change is not a Chinese "hoax" but the Chinese want everyone to make it humanity's focus simply because they want to manufacture all of the world's solar/wind/etc equipment

>Similarly, the United States would rather use a plurality of energy solutions, both renewable and not, because that is best for their economy. There is enough natural gas in the US to supply the globe's energy needs for centuries

>All energy-related "environmental" pacts are actually loose trade agreements, none of which benefit the United States, but greatly benefit China
>>
There's that gay saying "even if it wasn't real, the worst that could happen is that the environment is cleaner" and I do agree with that, but it's also naive because these environmentalists are far more concerned with making money than saving the environment. I've seen the bullshit first hand, they will make up shit under the cover of it being "for the environment" no matter how much it fucks over someone else.
It's great that we're using unleaded gasoline and more fuel-efficient cars. I'm not fucking kidding here, my biggest wish is that I am on my deathbed and everything on the planet is powered by the sun and wind. But this global warming shit is from the scummiest, greediest side of environmentalism and instead of actually finding ways to save the environment, they will simply fuck over people who are just trying to make a living, and purposely not save the environment because there would be no more business if it really was saved.

The Paris deal is complete feel good bullshit anyway. Non-binding. The only country that would be expected to follow it is the US.
Plus transferring jobs from countries that actually monitor actual pollution to countries that don't (China, India) isn't going to do a damn thing to help the environment.
And no, human produced CO2 isn't a problem. Pretending it is and taking attention away from real environmental problems is what harms the earth.
>>
>>127850180

This is the part that pretty much negates it for me.

It's the part no one can explain away.

>You can buy your way out of polluting!

The carbon is still emitted. The damage is still done. Whether a nigger in Chad gets a new pair of Jordans as a result and Leonardo DiCaprio can't afford an extra 3 yachts is irrelevant at the end of the day, because the damage is still being done.
>>
>>127850481
>"even if it wasn't real, the worst that could happen is that the environment is cleaner"

That's the thing though, that's not even the case. China wouldn't have to adhere to these rules for decades to come, which just means that all industry will fuck off to China and run their plants with no filtering at all.

It's not just "doing nothing in the worst case", it is actually damaging the environment even in the best case.

>>
Shitposting aside, climate change is happening, and it's sped up by human effect, but is still something that the planet can take and has taken. Nature doesn't care about anything or anyone it just is. 99% of all species died off during the ice age for example.

Trump and conservatives would rather be competitive and aggressive with our output and economy than tie any of it up. Especially by big government which is notorious for being inefficient. Let the consumer and factory owners decide their policy, within reason. Also other countries like China pollute 10x what we do, so globally it's not a big difference maker.
>>
>>127850477
One more:

>The ONLY statement that has near-100% consensus among scientists is "climate change exists". The mid-to-long-term effects of climate change are heavily speculated and debated, coming nowhere close to consensus

The consensus meme is fucking infuriating and needs to be stopped
>>
>>127848299

Let me give you the full gestalt, OP, hopefully these numbers will help our cause. These are the facts.

The Paris (((agreement))) will devastate the US economy whilst having negligible impacts on climate change, even if you believe in that Great Jewish Hoax.

In essence, the agreement will eliminate 6 MILLION (oy vey) jobs, and eradicate over 2 trillion GDP in America. In return for? Did you know that if the US completely cut off its fossil fuel emissions, by 2050 global temperatures would be reduced by 0.2 degrees Celsius. Yes, that's it. And the Paris agreement won't do this; only it will stifle the growth of fossil fuels. So, its impacts on "climate change" will literally be negligible.

In other words, the climate pact is literal suicide. There are so many other issues with it that its not even worth getting into; notably, the pact actually allows developing countries like India to INCREASE their CO2 emissions, all while the US, with a fraction of India's population, is forced to destroy its own economy.

There is literally no scenario in which this can be considered a positive for the US. Literally the only argument from the left is it is a "GREAT FIRST STEP" to solving the apparently holo-level impact of climate change in the future. So they are making an emotional argument, not based on fact, and the assumption that nations would desire to hurt themselves even more, much much more in fact, to attempt to cure this "problem" of climate change which many scientists believe incurable, even those who subscribe to the Jew Theory.

And that, in a nutshell, is why Trump is pulling out of it. And God, you should be grateful. You should all be thankful. I only hope to be next.

Nature will be fine, it has survived worse than what we are doing now to the planet, we can't say the same about the rest of humanity though.

If you believe climate change has no basis behind it, you might as well be considered a tacit supporter of depopulation.

>>
>>127852589
That picture is complete hogwash.
Scientists never predicted an ice age. There was a brief debate on cooling vs warming. But nobody other than Time Magazine and the Mail predicted an ice age.

Nobody says that sea level rise will wipe 'nations off the map'. However a 1-2 metre rise by 2100 would cause unspeakable damage to huge populated areas and devastate nations like Bangladesh

The rainforests have nothing to do with climate change. However they are being destroyed and climate change will cause wildfires to make this worse

The himalayan glaciers are rapidly receding

Global warming will cause fewer hurricanes, this has been the consensus for some time. These will be more powerful however.

The arctic could very well undergo a blue ocean event very, very soon. This is a VERY serious event with huge consequences due to the positive feedbacks caused by loss of albedo and permafrost melt.

'it was hotter in the past so its fine now'

How long do you fucking think humans have existed?

We are NOT SUITED TO the climate from hundreds of millions of fucking years ago

Past climate changes were caused primarily by a combination of

>Solar activity
>CO2 and GHG levels
>Milankovitch cycles

Solar activity steady for 3 decades whilst temperatures rise
Milankovitch cycles need thousands of years to have an impact
CO2 increasing at a higher rate than any in the history of the planet (EVER including the fucking Permian mass extinction)

No, I'm sure we aren't causing it
I'm sure we'll be fine

http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/abs/10.1175/2008BAMS2370.1

>Free Access The Myth of the 1970s Global Cooling Scientific Consensus
>An enduring popular myth suggests that in the 1970s the climate science community was predicting “global cooling” and an “imminent” ice age, an observation frequently used by those who would undermine what climate scientists say today about the prospect of global warming. A review of the literature suggests that, on the contrary, greenhouse warming even then dominated scientists' thinking as being one of the most important forces shaping Earth's climate on human time scales.

Retarded Trumpers.

Find me a single example in human history of globalization failing the primary states in an agreement. Your fear is removing industrial capacity from developed nations when that is literally the only modern way left to grow an economy without forcing your citizens to fuck 24/7. It takes a special kind of Economic ignorance to spin this into a 'wasting taxpayers' money argument. Economic theory is sporadic and volatile, but this is one of the few basic tenants that's universally agreed upon: growth is good.

Well is it effective? You're falling for branding way too much. Just because it wants to protect the enviroment, doesn't mean it DOES. I'm by no means an expert in this whole climate debate, but the way liberals have elevated this whole ordeal into dogma is what made me sceptical in the first place. You're not even allowed to debate or negotiate, you either agree and comply or they'll brand you as a dangerous idiot, to the point where Bill Nye the Weimar Guy even suggested throwing climate sceptics into prison. Gives the impression that a lot of power and money depends on this narrative, which forced me into being sceptical about it.

Its not even that unlikely to be a hoax. Its not hard to film a melting piece of ice and set it to sad music, to paint a picture of a melting planet. Apparently there's a long history of global hoaxes where people made up impending catastrophies so that they could sell their solutions to them, I think Molyneux had a video about this.
>>
>>127854799
It is 'interesting' but doesn't disprove AGW.

The whole image is claiming that 'it is natural' so we shouldn't try to stop it.

Current warming is entirely driven by man made CO2. This should be obvious just from looking at the trend of CO2 vs temperature since the industrial revolution.

It is very easy to understand. The things that impacted climate in the distant past (solar activity, the earths orbit, the position of the continents etc) do NOT explain current warming

CO2 is related to temperature increases, but coal and oil aren't the only problem. If we reduced coal or substituted it for nuclear and made deforestation a 1:1 cut/replant ratio we'd be fine. But it is either all or nothing for the government.

Do the people here claiming 'it will only hurt shitskin countries' not realise that this is a fucking international planet wide problem?

If Bangladesh is destroyed those people are going to India and China. If they go to India and China those countries undergo huge social unrest and stressors. Do you think India and China are not relevant? If millions of Bangladeshi refugees cause problems there, problems happen everywhere.

What do you think happens when Central American agriculture starts to fail? You get millions of refugees. You can kill them at the border and then what happens with the huge hispanic american population who are witnessing this? There will be civil war.

If the Middle East gets too hot (and it will very soon) how do you think this will impact ISIS? I'd say it will help recruitment and make the current wave of European terrorism 10 times worse.

Where do the Middle Eastern and North African climate refugees go?

What happens when the demographic time bomb in Europe and the US helps minority political parties gain power? Do you think they will prioritise you over the people they consider relatives and ancestors?

Do you think all of your food and things you own are produced in first world nations with first world materials? 70% of the worlds Phosphate rock (essential for fertilizer, which is vital for agriculture) is located in Morocco. Morocco will be destroyed by warming. Do you think they will let us take the phosphate for free?

There is an excellent talk here by a war historian called Gwynne Dyer discussing the Geopolitical ramifications of this.

Now why would they do that? Sure is a fucking mystery, ain't that right, princess?

Golly gee whiz, of course the oil industry is not like that at all, they are the true 'divine ascendant process' above all mortal concerns or from greed, shilling, and anti-scientific propaganda... Most people realize that 1. You can't change it without going to war with india and china and forcing them to cut levels. 2. It butchers your economy for no global benefit 3. In the past ten thousand years there have been over a dozen cases of larger, more rapid temperature rises including by as much as 2C during the time of the greeks(but .5C is the point of no return guyz). See, this is why the entire climate science industry is complete and utter bullshit. If they just published findings instead of trying to make predictions it would be respectable. There are too many factors that people don't take into consideration, and even more that aren't even recognized as relevant yet. And even more that we just don't fucking know about.

No one can just admit that we don't understand the mechanics yet. We just don't. Just publish the data and maybe eventually we'll understand and can make accurate predictions. Like in 300 years when there is enough reliable data.

this graph doesn't prove anything
nobody says CO2 is the only driver of climate. However it is the current cause of warming

>In the past ten thousand years there have been over a dozen cases of larger, more rapid temperature rises including by as much as 2C during the time of the greeks(but .5C is the point of no return guyz).

No. The only times we have warmed this quickly were during mass extinctions.
I assume you are referring to the 'Medieval warm period' which wasn't as warm as today and caused mass drought in huge parts of the world.

Well... if you value your current existence, the answer will be the same; yes.

Global ocean acidification happened once in prehistoric times, and it suddenly wiped out all ocean-bound life, which had drastic consequences at the time for every other species. Same can happen to us.

Consequences range from the end of fishing altogether, to killing off the largest supply of our oxygen providing, as sea vegetation provides the majority of it.
