Their whole worldview is based on insecurities leading to aggressively wanting to stick with the herd. They are not the type of men to be alphas and strike out on their own.
So where does that leave more socially awkward beta guys that strike out on their own in their eyes? By their standards they are not sticking with the herd, and due to the fact the ones they are picking on are weak, it is very easy for them to attack. They are attacking the weaker guys among 4chan because they feel it places themselves above them (but by proxy this is an attempted attack on us as we are fucking them up), and therefore more secure in the herd, but at it's root, they are still insecure betas who thirst hard for group approval.
No secure guy would make a video like this, it is simple. You can sense the intense malice from the producer, this malice is rooted in their own self hatred. In general people treat other people with the same standards they treat themselves, this is why bullies tend to have fucked up personal histories.

The part where they fail is the fact that alphas strike out on their own by their own nature, so they may be able to pick on the more beta people who strike out on their own, but the people at Buzzfeed picking on betas are still betas themselves.

This essentially, if you are content with yourself, and know where you are, you strike out into the world from a solid stand point.. You'll nasty betas like those at Buzzfeed chopping at you, but this doesn't phase you because you know where you are at, and it is them with the problem. The fact you are unphased will make them cower like an ashamed dog.
All the guy had to do in the video was say 'hi' back to the girl in the elevator with ease and surety, no need for anything else. The stuff with the watch etc was a joke, and barely anyone would do that. If you just continue with yourself being reserved and self assured she will likely chase you.
