On a technical note, it sounds like he is actually a bit of a con-artist, and that he has ripped off most if not all of his most famous photographs from stuff that others have done before him.

This particular photo is only clever on a very superficial level. Instead of seeing it and instantly being done with it, there's maybe a two or three second pause. Hardly """"telling a story"""", and the aesthetics and lighting could be a lot more dramatic.
