the newer generation doesn't view north korea as the estranged brother; if that survey is real, which I doubt, it would have been of the older generations

generally speaking, korea is nationalistic because of cultural and historical reasons; they've historically been beaten up by big bad china and japan and have had to band together on a shitty mountainous peninsula to fight it off
