He is a supporter of Trump's views regarding Muslims. The reason the stabbing took place is because of his views towards Muslims. Therefore, Trump's rhetoric about Muslims is at least partially responsible for the attack.

If he had been rambling about free college before stabbing the victims, then you could make the case that Bernie Sanders' rhetoric caused the stabbing. But it didn't. His support for Bernie Sanders is no more relevant to this case than his support for his favorite football team. Stop being stupid.
