It's not a secret. Wages in industrialized nations haven't kept up with inflation/cost of living. Decent hardworking guy could get a small house and marry a woman out of high school. I would see the following happening, in no particular order and as one or some of the options/outcomes a business or people would take in this situation:

Jobs go overseas.
Businesses sponsor immigrants bringing them in (if not impeded by government, this was a common practice during the 1800's+).
Wages increase or decrease(?) for older workers.
Wages increase for younger workers.
Businesses go out of business.
Businesses mechanize or automate.
Increase demand for cheap imports on goods or services:
- could lead to import price increase
- simultaneously domestic prices forced to compete with imports?
- political trade deals?
Retirees forced to go back to work.
People have more children (for 25-35 age group assuming wages increase)
If the opposite happens, not enough work or wages don't increase:
-strikes, riots, war etc?
Possible cuts or reduction to government social programs:
- changes to or end social security system payments (?)
- attempt experimental programs (i.e. basic income)


I really think it would be a possible mishmash of all these things at different times in various sectors of the market and people's lives.
