I spent a year and a half in Madrid as a work/study. There are all sorts of Spaniards. In my experience I met about as many Levantine looking people as I did white European ones. I didn't meet many Spaniards that were blonde with blue eyes but they do exist. Most were brown hair and light colored eyes with features not that different from the average Mediterranean. The closer I got to the Pyrenees the more French they looked while the closer I got to the north the more they looked like your average Anglo or Irish. I did meet quite a few gingers in my short visit to Zaragoza.

I did see a lot of immigrants in Madrid and even more in Barcelona. There was a noticeable difference between South Americans and Spaniards. It's pretty obvious to tell them apart. Short stocky people with Mongoloid features that the average Spaniard simply did not have. There are also a lot of gypsy that are tolerated in Spain which does a lot to ruin the countries public image.

I don't know about racist, its true that spanish has a lot of slurs and are very easy to make(South America: Panchitos, tiraflechas, sudacas...) and many insults too(more than English I would say, from common things like "capullo" to weird ones like "cimarron").

What I'm sure spanish is, is sexist in comparison with English. In English you can have a conversation about another person without having to say or implicit its gender, in Spanish you can't, when you talk about another person attributes or possession you have to say the gender in the article, and many times, you have to change the gender of the actual word(by finishing that word in a, or exchanging its normal masculine for feminine substituting usually o with a)(yes, in spanish whether feminists like it or not, masculine is the neutral gender)

This means, that the whole pronoun thing in Spain is not winning any traction, you cannot make neutral pronouns here because we don't have them and adding them would mean changing all the rules, what I have heard is trannies asking to guess their favorite pronoun.

In english you have "it" that doesn't imply any gender, here in Spanish the equivalent is "el" which whether refers to a person or an animal it must express the gender "el/ella"
