Germany is gearing up to crack down on "wrong opinions" on the internet.

While the German opposition is saying this is a totalitarian move to curb freedom of speech online, the minister of the interior disagrees: "The point of the proposed legislation is that statements that violate the law must be deleted," Maas said. "These are not examples of freedom of speech. They're attacks on the government."

Left party spokeswoman Petra Sitte argued that the legislation essentially puts private companies in the role of judges who would have to make snap judgments about what sort of speech is allowed. She also worried that the rules could be used against no hate speech.
"Legal content will be deleted in large-scale fashion," Sitte said. "It doesn't take much imagination to envision how this could be misused to silence, for instance, activists against far-right extremism."
And Greens party spokesman Konstantin von Notz objected, that the time pressure Maas is facing has led him to put forward a draft law full of flaws.
"It's not OK that you do nothing but talk for most of the legislative period and then present legislation at the last minute," Notz said. "This legislation won't solve the problem."

Germany is going to be a rare flag when this happens.

Isn't this literally the Communist Party of the DDR?

Finally a good thing about our government being tech illiterate and thinking the internet consists of Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
Let them gas the normies, maybe that will wake them up.

They are their successor, yes.
Also only accepted in Eastern Germany where a lot of people are still nostalgic about the DDR.

In Western Germany it is a death sentence for the election if you don't rule out any coalition with them.

these are dire times when the islamist loving greens and the ex StaSi party are the only ones opposing a law like this

the minister who came along with this dumb idea is a center-left social democrat by the way

I support this for reasons that are good for you /pol/

>tune up the police state
>let them destroy themselves

Normies can't be reasoned or bargained with.
They are too far gone.
The only option now is to let them get what they want as fast and unnatural as possible.
Then maybe after everything goes to shit the state of the world can be rebuilt.

Meme it goys

I can't wait for the right to prevail and use these laws to ban the expression of Marxist thought.

>"Yes, hello Mister Nagasaki. This is Heiko Maas, the federal minister of justice from Germany. We have been informed that you are not complying with our demands to delete hate speech from your website 4Chan dot org. If this continues, we will have to fine you for 50 million Euros."

>"Nani?"

Someone will set up a dark web site, in a non applicable country. Leak the location, people will gather there. Simply because people like New opinions, not the we all agree hug box shit. The present big company's will suffer and so will fund resistance via legal and political means to the legislation.
