When I stayed in Paris for about 10 days, I usually wandered around the typical touristy areas and they are fine. A bit untidy compared to German cities though. But then when I took the train from Le Gare Nord to the airport, it was like a Safari trip. I was squashed like a sardine by all black passengers in the compartment.
