The main purposes of WW1 were to:

1) overthrow all the governments in Europe with Marxism (see the Bolshevik Revolution that succeeded in 1918 in Russia, the German Revolution (1918-1919), the Hungarian Revolution (1918-1920)...
2) acquire land in Palestine for Jews (this happened with the Balfour Declaration in 1917) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration
3) Make money for international bankers (the Warburg and Schiff families were responsible for "convincing" the Kaiser to sign the orders to give Lenin a train and funding him through the Warburg bank in Germany)
