The communist regime in east Germany actually still had strong family values and also better education in terms of "pro-family" stuff, while western education mostly focused (and still does) to push in mostly useless shit into the heads of the people. They had more "social stuff" in the east.

Since the destruction of the family values started around the 1960s for the west, this did start in the 1990s for the east. This means there is an entire generation between western and eastern Germany where the people in the west were already nurtured by liberal ideas partnered with low investment parenting, creating these uber cucks we call "males" today. Estern Germany (and eastern Europe) is basically one entire Generation away from that (maybe a bit longer even). The current crisis however helps in slowing down that process, meaning especially the eastern parts will be redpilled for a longer period of time.

If "family values" are really important to you (to me they are not) the east was much worse in that case. Here it was common place that the mother of the family (of course) worked too, while in the west that was the place where the old fashioned "conservative values" could be found.
Denazification was much stricter in the east (and punishment was much harsher then in the west). I would even go so far that the west was in some ways a safe haven for ex-nazis. Hell, the whole cabinet of the first west german government consisted of former nazis with varying degrees of guilt (but Austria was even worse, there hardly was any denazification). The fucking west german secret agency was founded by former nazis.
