The difference between Christianity and Islam is that for Christianity, the problem was never in the scriptures, it was peoples interpretation of them.
The problem with Islam IS the scriptures. The best part is that Quraan claims it is unfailable, perfect, eternal. Hadiths I think have similar weight attached to them, and thats where the really nasty stuff is. You cannot reform Islam without gutting its scriptures completely, which at that point in my estimation its just better to convert to the superior religions of Christianity/Hinduism/Budduism what ever. Islam was a mistake and should be left in the sands of time forever.
